When is Spielberg overpraised? Except for Raiders of the Lost Ark, I can't really think of any instance when it happened.

I recently saw Jurassic Park 3D with my gf and her friends. I had to work that night but was called off because it was a bit slow (restaurant stuff) and I had nothing else planned, so I tagged along. I wasn't super excited. I mean, I've seen this before.
Man, was I lucky. My bad memory served me well because every thrill was fresh and exciting, the CD rom stuff was hilarious now, and sexy Jeff Goldblum in 3D!!!
One day I'll learn to stop being so cynical, but life throws unexpected reminders too help you along the way.

bbats -- right? I feel like i was so much more open to this movie now than i was back then and the bad memory also served me spectacularly well.

gustavo -- i guess we have very dissimilar feelings on spielberg. I think he's overpraised basically with every movie ;)

Joe -- THANK YOU. I love drawing and it's nice when people like it because it is kind of a detour on this site. i'm just hoping people enjoy the detour cuz i really want a weekly comic.

This was awesome...and nice to see on an otherwise sad day in the US.

I know this is not the point, but I saw Orlando and Peter's friends back to back after my first semester of universitys at the (now demolished) Greater Union Pitt Street in Sydney. Looking back i realise it was only three weeks later that i came out to all my new university friends. I suspect that the two events are not unrelated. I have felt affection for both movies ever since.

matt - isn't that cool, though, how movies take on such specific personal meaning or connection. quite apart from what they actually are in some ways.

hannah -- thanks. i dont quite want to draw into the void so it's appreciated.
