What "hotly-anticipated" movie of the summer are you anxious to see disappear?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJoey

What song of Madonna's would you like to see added to Madonna's current MDNA World Tour?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMDNA

Do you think Madeline Stowe deserves to be Emmy nominated for Lead Actress this year in "Revenge"? And would you nominate any other of the cast members as well? :-) I

I feel that there are a lot of people on this website who are really just starting to experiment with their actress-sexuality. What 5 movies would you recommend to someone who wanted a primer on being an actress-sexual?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBrady

A terrific actress that never gets discussed on Film Experience-Whoopi Goldberg. What are your thoughts on her career? Do you have a fave role? And, most importantly, what would it take to get her a third nomination?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJohn T

Yes she has a documentary named after her but is Debra Winger overall underrated?

Does Michelle's hypothetical in the air overdue career Oscar simply lie in the hands of Harvey Weinstein?

If you could have a once in a lifetime chance to be cast in an auteur's film whose the auteur and why?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered Commenter4rtful

If you could reverse 3 acting Oscar decisions, what would they be?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterPatryk

I know today it's one of the worst categories in the oscar race, but not too long ago I was a fan of the best original song. From "The continental", the very first winner in 1934 to "Man or muppet", the last winner ¿Which are your ten favorite oscar winning songs?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSebastian

Since you once listed your favorite out actors, I honestly wonder if you've got favorite in the closet actors as well. And if so, who makes your list? John Travolta? Queen Latifah? Jeremy the action dwarf? Elijah the block of Wood? Luke Evans? Tom Hardy? Ben Whishaw? I assume Kevin Spacey will not appear among your favorites.

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterWilly

What film of the past few years do you think will be looked up far more kindly than it is today? I don't mean a movie like Drive that did so-so business and will grow in fans, more a situation like how A.I. came out, was received with rather lukewarm-y, but is now considered the unsung Spielberg masterpiece.

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBrian Z

Is there any way to donate a sum to you via Paypal without going for a monthly subscription? I'm not a fan of those, but I do feel generous at the moment...

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMrW

Patryk: I'm not the blog runner, but there's SO many that could be made in EVERY category, but I'll 1. limit myself to two a category and 2. not limit myself by who was nominated.

Lead Actor:

1. Jack Nicholson's for As Good as It Gets becomes John Cusack's for Grosse Pointe Blank.
2. Michael Douglas's for Wall Street becomes Richard E. Grant's for Withnail and I.

Lead Actress:

1. Frances McDormand's for Fargo gets downgraded to a supporting win (sorry, but I think it really is almost wholly William H. Macy's movie) and Blethyn takes the trophy.
2. Jodie Foster's for Silence of the Lambs becomes Linda Hamilton's for T2

Supporting Actor:

1. Kevin Spacey's nom for The Usual Suspects is pushed to lead and Christopher Walken wins for The Addiction.
2. Robert DeNiro's nom for The Godfather Part II is pushed to lead (really, that's the structure of The Godfather Part II. The whole intellectual thesis positions Michael and Young Vito as being of equal importance) and John Cazale's Fredo Corleone takes the prize.

Supporting Actress:

1. Penelope Cruz's for Vicky Christina Barcelona becomes Viola Davis's for Doubt
2. Whoopi Goldberg's for Ghost becomes Marcia Gay Harden's for Miller's Crossing

Ha! So fun that this is back!

Since we've been discussing Mad Men quite a bit, I decided to ask you this:

Take your Mad Men main characters (Roger, Don, Peggy, Joan, Pete) and, playing to their strenghts, cast each one in a 1950s classic movie role. For example, I've always kinda saw Don Draper as Cary Grant in 'North By Northwest': a cool, stoic, graceful man with just the right ammount of desperation.

And of course you can cast Joan Holloway as a Marilyn Monroe-type character. And so on. I'd be very interested to know HOW YOU understand these characters we've grown to love.

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJorge Rodrigues

What's your favorite Michelle Pfeiffer performance, and with which male co-star do you think she's had the best chemistry?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterTyler

What current young TV star do you believe is most likely to become a breakout movie star in the next five to ten years?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSteve

Last night I saw "All About Eve" (I know, I know same on me I tend to be lazy when it comes to "old Hollywood pic." (don't know why...)). I was really blowed away, it's one of the best movie I've seen about the Theatre world. My personal favorite will always be the SO underrated "Opening Night" by the GREAT Cassavetes with the Oh! SO VERY UNDERRATED Gena Rowlands. Can you thinks of another great movie about the Theatre?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterstjeans

Related to what someone else said above, closeted actors. I recognize I'm fascinated at how scandals and gossip work (not so much by the actual "rumours" or stories), but I'm completely clueless about why all the John Travolta stories are happening now at the same time. Even if every story is finally false, just the accumulation of stories will change his public image for a long time. So, any theory about why now and why all at the same time? and should other actors fear the same thing may happen to them in the future?

Yeah, I know it's not discussing Kieslowski.

PS. Happy birthday!

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered Commenteriggy

Django Unchained trailer! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8tOaSqHZdU and while we're on the subject, maybe you could comment on DiCaprio's Oscar nominations? He's been nominated thrice, but he starred in several Oscary films that could've gotten him nods, like Titanic, Revolutionary Road, The Departed ("supporting) and J Edgar among others. Do you think he woulld've been deserving of any of those? Which ones do you consider his best perfomances? What do you think are his chances for either Django or Gatsby this year?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLucky

Question maybe off topic, but when do we get Best Scenes of Film Bitch Awards 2012?? I love Film Bitch Awards, you manage to praise movies regardless their budgets or shining / unknown /raising / falling stars

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLydie

I'm pretty sure you've stopped watching Glee (as anyone sensible would have, I suppose), but I wonder--if they made a Glee feature film with a brand new cast, how would you recast the main roles with movie stars? (Ignore age as much as you wish considering we have many more stars in their 20s than in their teens.)

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJake D

@stjeans Opening Night is a masterpiece, Gena Rowlands lands one of the best performances ever - the very best is hers, of course, in A Woman Under the Influence - and not even All About Eve is as great as Cassavetes' movie when it comes to theatre.

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered Commentercal roth

Now, my question: Romy Schneider died 30 years ago, in May 29th, 1982. Since she is a major diva/idol/actress/icon, do you have any thoughts on her? Are you familiar with her work? Do you LOVE her?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered Commentercal roth

What film (or films) are you most looking forward to this year?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMDA

Willy: You really think Elijah Wood is an entirely wooden actor? Really? Okay then, 3 points. 1. He was really good and nicely, subtly, expressive in his two voice roles (9 and Happy Feet). 2. Yes, his LOTR performance is oddly wooden. 3. The guy who played Patrick in Eternal Sunshine is many things. An entirely "wooden" actor? NO WAY.

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterVolvagia

Thelma Ritter vs. Agnes Moorhead vs. Celeste Holm

Also, since we were talking about 'All About Eve', which is your favorite supporting female performance in the film, since there were so many amazing ones?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSomeone

*Moorehead

I can't believe I misspelled La Moorehead's name!

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterSomeone

If you had your wish, what would Joss Whedon's next project post-Avengers be (not including anything that's been confirmed already)?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterRyan T.

Hi, since this month we are celebrating the gay pride, when did you come out to your parents?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterJim Cameron

I know you watched about half of the Best Picture Oscar winners for your "Best Pictures From the Outside In" series, but are there any others that you still haven't seen? If so, which films are they and do you ever plan to watch them?

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterCash

I'm not sure if you covered this before, but I would like to know what you think about January Jones and her....acting.

June 6, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterElliot

#1: Do you think Nicole Kidman's career is revitalized? The Paperboy raves (possible Oscar nomination?), Hemmingway & Gellhorn Raves (possible Emmy nomination?), Stoker (which comes out in 2012), being cast as Grace Kelly....people are talking saying she's back....do you think so?

#2: Do you think she has a shot of being nominated for an Oscar? If so in Lead or Supporting? And can she win? I think supporting would be her best shot...

#2: Please do a piece on Sophia Loren...PLEASE...

#3: What did you think of Titanic 3D? Thoughts on it?

June 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDan

How would you rank your top five, ten or twenty favorite musicals?

June 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDaniel Armour

Volvagia: 1. Naturally, I wasn't talking about voice acting, but I give you that Wood has a beautiful voice. 2. Elijah never was in TLOTR, only in its travesty. 3. Since he managed the impossible feat of turning Frodo Baggins into a psychotic and for that reason got typecast as a freak ever since, I do think that he's an entirely "wooden" actor, yes. After more than a decade, he still doesn't know how to play his typical role convincingly. 4. I do think that he was a wonderful child actor. But at least as far as I'm concerned, that's too long ago to increase his rank.

June 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterWilly

Can u set me up with either Eddie Redmayne or Andrew Garfield? Something NSA would be fine.

June 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterTroy

What do you think about violence in cinema? How you think it should be? Give us example of 1 particular violence scene/film that affect you the most?

June 7, 2012 | Unregistered Commentertombeet
