Jose here. Are you all getting excited about the True Blood season finale? This season got off to a very slow start but episode after episode it escalated towards the campy, outrageousness we have come to know and love in Alan Ball's show. After seeming like it would deal more with vampire politics and religious fanatics (something that became eerily prescient of what was to come in American politics) the show didn't forget to throw in a couple of truly batshit crazy elements (an ifrit! Salome! Bloody Lilith! Acrobatic werewolf sex!) fortunately during the past couple of episodes all the insane peripherical stories have been solved and we come down once again to Sookie being the only one who can fix everyone. To prepare for tonight's episode, let's take a look at some of the best moments of this past season (needless to say so, there are SPOILERS ahead).

Tara becomes a vampire!

Poor Tara (Rutina Wesley) got the short end of the stake (pun intended) as she once again saved Sookie, only to have her turn into a vampire. Wesley's character has undergone many transformations (lesbian fighter!) but this certainly was one of the most unexpected. Readers of the Sookie Stackhouse books, does this happen in the novels as well? Did you ever see it coming?

Tara's maker is no other than Pam (the fantastic Kristin Bauer van Straten) which has created one of the funniest/curiously moving dynamics in the show.

Roman Zimojic gets axed!

Any Christopher Meloni sightings are a big plus in my book and I was thrilled to realize he'd be in this season. I however never expected him to die in such a surprising way. With Russell Edginton (the fantastic Denis O'Hare) back it was fair to expect some sort of anarchy but nothing prepared me for this moment. My jaw dropped to the floor. I was however very grateful with the screenwriters who gave us one moment of Meloni's pecs. You can not feature this man and not let us see him shirtless.

 Hoyt gets Lacuna-ed

Broken hearted brute Hoyt Fortenberry (Jim Parrack) finally has had enough of Bon Temps and asks ex-girlfriend Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) to make him forget he even knew her. Can you blame the guy, really? He got into a KKK-ish faction of vampire killers and then was almost murdered by hooligans in Obamasks. Jessica obliges in what turned into one of the most moving moments this show has ever offered. On his way out of town Hoyt runs into his former best friend Jason (Ryan Kwanten) who asks him to stay. To his surprise, Hoyt doesn-t even recognize him. Sniff.

Dale Dickey!

Something tells me no one told Dale Dickey she was done filming Winter's Bone because her big bad mama wolf seems straight out of the award-winning indie. Not that we're complaining, the actress plays Martha Bozeman with such intensity that we crave more of her when she's not onscreen.

The Fairy Club.

Nuff said.

Now it's your turn dear readers, what were your fave moments this season? Are you looking forward to tonight? Have you already entered Sookie withdrawal?
