Remember BULL DURHAM?

I still remember how happy I was when I saw it the first time and I had to restrain myself to immediately watch it again, it was so perfect to me.

Only a handful of sports movies I would watch on a constant loop because they are just so satisfying: Slap Shot, Bull Durham, and the original Bad News Bear

Kevin Costner in underwear ironing... Such good memories. When did movies become so aseptic and cold?

I really ought to revisit 'I tu Mamá también'. It's been so long!

A missing line from the script would be "He didn't really care, though. He always looked good in his underwear."

Almost the first of many films Film Experience introduced me to. It doesn't hurt one bit that Gael looks so very gorgeous.

This is really a perfect movie. Based solely on this and Children of Men, Cuaron is in the absolute top-tier of modern directors.

One of my favorite films of this century!

Such a powerful script. This movie changed completely my mind and my idea of what a good screenplay could actually be. The final result and execution is breathtaking.
Who could have imagined such a spot on, precise and meticulous narrative that at the same time feels so spontaneous, alive and realistic. This movie is so demanding for the viewer, nothing should be taken for granted. There is tension in every little scene and in every narrative structure. From the cold voice-over vs the heart-warm realism of the performances to the trio of hungry souls that share the ride of their lives in search of the perfect beach but who can´t really handle how open and wide could be that place.
Cuaron / Y Tu Mama Tambien is what happens when Kubrick meets the Nouvelle Vague. And that´s a compliment.

Well, I was just going to say how much I loved the movie, but after Tomas' wonderful speech on it, I feel that such a simple statement is underwhelming.

I did love the hell out of the movie, but, like all the movies I love the most, I can never quite articulate what I love about them other than "It makes me happy to watch this." And I thank Nathaniel for getting me to check it out.
