NATHANIEL R in Colorology, Elisabeth Moss, Golden Globes, Red Carpet Lineup

I'm frantically trying to prep my final Oscar predictions (so difficult this year. Wheeee) and realizing with great sadness that I don't have anymore time to talk about the Golden Globes. Oh, that they'd space things out a little. So herewith some hastily assembled photos and super brief gawking at Globe looks.

Starting with a gallery I've dubbed "Trying Too Hard / Barely Trying" -- guess who's doing which? -- and moving on to best & worst after the jump...

Robbie, Heard, Roberts, Witherspoon & Schilling

I placed Margot Robbie and Amber Heard side by side because you know up until the Wolf of Wall Street they were probably competing for the same va va voom roles. I don't understand Reese or Julia's red carpet looks hardly ever but as Former America's Sweethearts with more money than god they could probably care less how well they fare on red carpet recaps 'round social media each year. As for Taylor Schilling... Orange is the New Black is like a godsend for television but when you're having your big showbiz moment, and big showbiz moments are always possibly your only big showbiz moments, you really have to step it up several notches past this.

Worst Dressed!

Paula Patton, Sandra Bullock, Hayden Panetierre, Berenice Bejo, and

Is Bullock doing an ode to gender neutral parenting? alien neopolitan? The great thing about making worse dressed lists is that you can just take off the dress and make best lists next week. Let's not dwell.

Red is the Warmest Color

Edie Falco, June Squibb, Julie Delpy, Lupita Nyong'o, and Amy Adams

Movie titles were all about "Blue" this year but the hot color this weekend was RED. I'm sure people complained that Edie Falco looked like a christmas present but she IS a gift to the world, so why not? I'm actually kind of crazy about the shape of Julie Delpy's bodice. More famously both Amy Adams and Lupita Nyong'o risked cape friendly sheath apparel and both won gold ARGHSTOPREMINDINGME... trying again... and both won Best Dressed. Yes.

The other most popular color was some variation on gold, gold details, gold texture, champagne almost gold sparkle...

Gold for Golden

Emma, Jacqueline, Lizzy, Ben Foster's, and Son of Bruce

Question: Why aren't more people talking about Lizzy Caplan's awesome sleeves? Very unusual but they work for her. Is it because she was (stupidly) not nominated for her show-carrying work on Masters of Sex, my new premium cable pet.

But this was my personal favorite...

And not just because Elisabeth Moss proved this year that there was infinitely more to her than Peggy on Mad Men with her sensational work in Jane Campion's Top of the Lake.
