Presented by Zac Efron who has trouble reading
Karen O sings "Moon Song"

A pox on Oscar's house that they don't include these things in the live broadcast in a more meaningful way. Fuck "Heroes Theme". Give me Steve & Lansbury!

Somehow John Travolta got the job of introducing the new Queer anthem "Let it Go" performed by Idina Menzel. Oops. Also he butchers her name. Double Oops. And then Idina has trouble on the high note. Triple Oops. Pretty if simple ice castle set though

winner: "Let it Go" from Frozen

ADAPTED SCREENPLAY
Presented by Robert DeNiro and Penelope Cruz
winner: John Ridley for 12 Years a Slave
ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY
winner:  Spike Jonze, Her

In retrospect it was very silly of me not to predict him. He's involved with like every movie and so so so talented.

BEST DIRECTOR
Presented by Angelina Jolie and Sidney Poitier. And fascinating that Angelina Jolie -- who could've starred in Gravity -- was the one to hand it to him.
winner:Alfonso Cuarón, Gravity

BEST ACTRESS
Presented by Daniel Day Lewis.
winner Cate Blanchett, Blue Jasmine

BEST ACTOR
Presented by Jennifer Lawrence
winner: Matthew McConaughey thanks God, thanks his father who has passed, thanks himself. This is bizarre. He thanks himself for being his own hero.

BEST PICTURE
Presented by Will Smith
winner: 12 Years a Slave

THAT'S IT! Much more in the next 48 hours as we dig a little deeper. I scored 19/24 in my predictions which is not great because I missed a couple of obvious things (I had a hunch that there'd be an upset in foreign film - wrong! and I overthought Editing & Costumes) since I thought it would be a volatile night. I was wrong but I had a blast watching. I hope you had a great night, too.
