Flaunt magazine, which always has amazing photoshoots of gorgeousity, is featuring Elizabeth Olsen right about now with a profile article and a photoshoot. I've been smitten since that eery girl-without-a-center performance in Martha Marcy May Marlene but it didn't hurt that when I met her on the Oscar campaign trail that year she was even more beautiful (skin of creamy flawlessness) and we talked Michelle Pfeiffer since she's also a pfan. But I digress...
These days she doesn't have to wait for her phone to ring with movie roles though we've yet to see a role or performance from her as stellar as that quadruple named indie breakthrough. [More...]
Obviously she was wasted in Godzilla afforded only rare reaction shots of worry or fear.

Olsen is careful not to say anything about her role as The Scarlet Witch in interviews. Consider this bit from the Flaunt article:

I really just feel like I’m doing something that’s top secret and somehow has a lot more importance than anything else I’ve been around, so that alone is hilarious. I want to take a photo and send to my friends, not that I want to tweet or Instagram it, just for personal reasons—and I feel like I’m going to get in trouble if I take a photo on set!” Although that would never stop the militant fansites, I get the impression she’s glancing over her shoulder as she utters these choice words, tiptoeing on the settee, say, looking for wiretaps in the smoke detector.
I hope her work is resonant enough to steal the movie because The Scarlet Witch is easily one of my top ten favorite superheroes. As you know I really liked Whedon's Avengers movie but I can't say that the absence of the two definitive female Avengers (Witch & Wasp) didn't sting. One can safely assume that the photos from the set will look a lot more impressive with visual effects added... though there's been so much magic expressed as glowing swirly CG light (see Harry Potter movies & everything else) that I hope they find a way to twist it so it's not just that.
I recently went to Captain America: The Winter Soldier again (just as good the second time) and I was going to leave the theater before the tags until I remembered that Olsen would pop up ever so briefly looking haunted and dangerous in some sort of glass cage.
Can't wait to see her in all her mentally touched action glory with her super-fast twin in tow. (It's literally the only upcoming superhero-anything that I'm excited about.)
