Chris Feil in 2017, Chris Pratt, Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel
Chris here with some Marvel goodness. With Doctor Strange about to hit theatres, naturally Marvel is ready to stoke the masses for their next superhero tentpole: Guardians of the Galaxy - Vol. 2. This one comes with a little more goodwill attached considering the first installment was (mostly) warmly received. It also set a high bar for what they can achieve outside of their flagship characters, both in fan support and box office.
Take a look at the teaser below, with first impressions and a very 90s Guess Jeans-inspired poster after the jump...
Aww! Baby Groot got a baby coat! Ooh, and Nebula got some facial reconstruction.
James Gunn has teased that this installment is more dark a la Empire Strikes Back, but this first look doesn't quite promise that. It's basically the same irreverence with a hint more badassery.
Official Memorandum on Sequels Using Empire Strikes Back as a Blueprint. We liked you just fine when you were silly.
"Hooked on a Feeling" is used here and a prominant part of the original's upbeat soundtrack. I'm maybe most excited to see what songs are on that Vol. 2 mixtape.
No sign of Kurt Russell yet. Already calling him and Goldie Hawn (starring in Amy Schumer's upcoming summer flick) our summer 2017 power couple.
This poster (below). I can just imagine the corresponding black and white commercial where the actors make weird, whispery proclamations about identity before shilling for denim. Fall into The Gap, Guardians style.
