Cinemablographer I totally co-sign this post which rakes TIFF over the coals for their new anti-audience policy of surge-pricing (so antithetical to TIFF's general character) -- well, I co-sign it up to the point where Nocturnal Animals is named second best of the fest and then I vomited

Girish lists his favorites too including the only film I walked out on: A Quiet Passion. To be fair I didn't walk out because I thought it was going to be bad (though Terence Davies is hit and miss with me) but because I knew I was way too tired to make it through. That said I found the first 5 minutes distractingly acted like the girls had just come out of their trailers in 2016 to film a scene set in, like, 1846. (I hate it when that happens.)
