Remember this past summer when we first heard that Kate Winslet and Idris Elba were making a romantic drama together? Here they are making out on the set of The Mountain Between Us
The 20th Century Fox movie about a man and a woman who survive a plane crash and have to trust each other to survive in the mountains, is directed by Hany Abu-Assad (who is best known for directing two Palestinian Oscar nominees: 20015's Paradise Now and 2013's Omar), is due in late October so basically we can expect it at the festivals...
What a pairing, eh? One legend on the comeback trail and another a hot commodity of the right now who really should be a big screen leading man by now but he spent this past year doing voice work for cartoons or being prosthetically disguised. After The Dressmaker, we suspect Kate Winslet is fired up again and ready to rock the silver screen.
Romantic dramas are tough to predict with Oscar. Might they go for this or will it be a mere blip in a crowded fall marketplace of adult dramas? The last romantic best-seller to transfer to the big screen was The Light Between Oceans which didn't fare so well though it was better than reviews suggested.
