Chris Feil in A Wrinkle in Time, Adaptations, Ava DuVernay, Oscars (18)

Chris here. Over the weekend, Ava DuVernay wrapped filming on her big budget adaptation of family fantasy epic A Wrinkle In Time. While the happy news is that we're now that much more closer to the film, we now have a planet-sized crater on the joyful side of our social media platforms. If you've been paying attention, DuVernay has been treating us to a delightful behind-the-scenes treatment since filming began - and it's been such a bright spot over some gloomy days at the beginning of the year.

The constant glimpses have shown how Wrinkle represents the kind of diversity we've been demanding to see at the movies, both in front of the camera and behind it. The cast DuVernay has assembled (Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, Mindy Kaling) is enough to guarantee our interest, but what the director has done is made us excited for her hardworking crew. I can't be the only one who is going to miss having her introduce us to all of the people that go into making a movie, with no job (or person performing it) too small.
