Rita Moreno and Eva Marie Saint, that's who.
These two living legends showed up on the red carpet looking like your beyond-fabulous favorite aunt - Rita even wearing the very same dress she wore when she won her Best Supporting Actress Oscar 56 YEARS AGO. They then presented on the telecast to giant standing ovations, basking in the glow of the audience like the Queens of Cinema they are...
I was on the edge of my seat begging for more of Eva's Old Hollywood Story Hour - she referred to Alfred Hitchcock as "Fred"! - and judging by my Twitter timeline, everyone else was too; someone better get on that! She remains to this day the epitome of grace and beauty. If you were able to stay dry-eyed as she expressed her gratitude for the applause the year after she lost her husband, you are a stronger person than I!
But leave it to EGOT Rita to serve up the personality that was mostly lacking in this year's ceremony. Striking a pose reminiscent of West Side Story in silhouette before presenting Best Foreign Film (to A Fantastic Woman!) and proving to those in the audience who haven't been watching One Day At A Time (which you all should be!) that she's still got it after all these years, she made it clear that this is her world - we're all just living in it.
Never underestimate Old Hollywood stars - they know how to steal the show, and these two ladies showed us just how it's done, in their own separate ways. BRAVA!
