Why did no one tell us about "Harlots"?

NATHANIEL R in Harlots, Lesley Manville, Samantha Morton, TV, streaming

There's so much TV these days and so many streaming channel options that it's easy to miss all sorts of juicy series. Case in point: Hulu's "Harlots" which pits Oscar-nominated geniuses Lesley Manville and Samantha Morton against each other as brothel madames at war in late 18th century London.

I can practically hear Glenn Close whispering "war" in Dangerous Liaisons voice, while looking at this standoff in episode 2 of "Harlots"

Show of hands: Who has seen this? Season 2 premieres in July but we're just now catching up with Season 1. If enough of you are watching perhaps we'll cover it? It's far from perfect. The anachronistic score is driving me nuts. Not because it's anachronistic but because it's loud and desperate to make it's "I'm anachronistic!" point. And the series can't always decide if it's pure camp or serious drama -- even Manville and Morton have misplaced their subtlety (!) --  but there's just so much actressing.

MANVILLE vs. MORTON? I can definitely go 8 rounds with this for Season 1.
