NATHANIEL R in Emmy, Fleabag, Game of Thrones, TV

We couldn't watch the Emmys tonight due to a major off-blog deadline but here is your list of winners. How satisfied are you on a scale of YAAASSSS to I FEEL SICK in each of the big sections, comedy / drama / limited series.

COMEDY

Best Comedy “Fleabag” (Amazon)
Best Actress, Comedy Phoebe Waller-Bridge, “Fleabag”
Best Actor, Comedy Bill Hader, “Barry”
Supporting Actress, Comedy Alex Borstein, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”
Supporting Actor, Comedy Tony Shalhoub, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”...

Writing for a Comedy Series Phoebe Waller-Bridge, “Fleabag” (“Episode 1”)
Directing for a Comedy Series Harry Bradbeer, “Fleabag” (“Episode 1”)

In a remarkable turn of events Marvelous Mrs Maisel and Veep and their leading ladies had to step aside for Fleabag. But Fleabag is brilliant so well done, Phoebe Waller-Bridge. But because Emmy can't do without some of its love of repetition, Tony Shalhoub picked up his fourth Emmy, though his first for The Marvelous Mrs Maisel.

DRAMA

Best Drama “Game of Thrones” (HBO)
Best Actress, Drama Jodie Comer, “Killing Eve”
Best Actor, Drama Billy Porter, “Pose”
Supporting Actress, Drama Julia Garner, “Ozark”
Supporting Actor, Drama Peter Dinklage, “Game of Thrones”
Writing for a Drama Series Jesse Armstrong, “Succession” (“Nobody Is Ever Missing”)
Directing for a Drama Series Jason Bateman, “Ozark” (“Reparations”)

Despite its insane haul at the Creative Arts Emmys Game of Thrones was unable to beat its own record for most wins in a single season. Instead it tied itself, winning only two big ones that it had won multiple times before: Series and Supporting Actor. We're thrilled for both Jodie Comer (a shocking win) and Billy Porter (who most people, including us, expected to prevail) as the leading winners as both are brilliant on their respective shows. Billy Porter is the first openly gay man to win Best Actor in a Drama Series.

LIMITED SERIES & OTHER STUFF

Best Limited Series “Chernobyl” (HBO)
Best Actress, Limited Series or TV Movie Michelle Williams, “Fosse/Verdon”
Best Actor, Limited Series or TV Movie Jharrel Jerome, “When They See Us”
Supporting Actress, Limited Series or Movie Patricia Arquette, “The Act”
Supporting Actor, Limited Series or Movie Ben Whishaw, “A Very English Scandal”
Television Movie “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” (Netflix)
Variety Sketch Series “Saturday Night Live” (NBC)
Variety Talk Series “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver” (HBO)
Reality Competition “RuPaul’s Drag Race” (VH1)
Writing for a Limited Series or Movie Craig Mazin, “Chernobyl”
Writing for a Variety Series “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver” (HBO)
Directing for a Limited Series or Movie Johan Renck, “Chernobyl”
Directing for a Variety Series Don Roy King, “Saturday Night Live” (“Host: Adam Sandler”)

Here's something truly remarkable given Emmys tendency NOT to spread the wealth. There's not a single repeating show between the limited series / tv movie / and ANY of the acting prizes for limited series/movie... so six different shows ended up winners. How crazy is that?
