Somehow it’s November! Any retrospective look back at 2020 is surreal, particularly given that this feels like the 9th month of March and we're speeding into another lockdown here in New York City. Some of the best new-to-me films of 2020 showing up on streaming platforms, like Youssef Chahine's The Land on Netflix and Marianne und Juliane coming to the Criterion Channel next month - also I saw Party Girl for the first time this year, which was a very big deal for me.
