All movies should be rated R so that children can't go to them.

More after the jump including Toni Collette, Top Gun Maverick, multiverse mania, and responses to that story about Patti LuPone ranting at a maskless theatergoer on Broadway after Stephen Sondheim's Company...
toni collette is one of those people where no matter how many times you tell me she is australian i will not believe you that is an american woman

So few of you have lived through a full James Cameron cycle before. Everyone will expect him to fail this time and then two billion people will pay to watch a screensaver where blue cats hug whales. It's pointless to fight it.

This is so random — my boyfriend said a couple of hours ago when he saw that Fred Ward had died that Jon Bernthal reminded him of Fred — cut to a minute ago I opened my Instagram & Jon Bernthal has posted an RIP for Ward with an especially Bernthal-esque photo — it’s true though? pic.twitter.com/foaLCVwkOS

Honestly, though, it was worth it to make sure that nobody who watched the Oscars will ever forget whatever that one movie is called. https://t.co/GjtfLTwCn8

Someone should make a ROGER RABBIT rip-off where all the Universal Monsters are real, used to be big movie stars back in the 1930s, and now they're depressed that the studio doesn't know how to use them anymore

TOP GUN: MAVERICK is a movie about how Tom Cruise will never stop doing this shit, absolutely not, you can’t make him. (Yeah, it rules.)

And let's end by celebrating Broadway diva Patti Lupone. The big Broadway story (aside from the Tony nominations) was a theatergoer who kept removing her mask and Patti freaking out and screaming at her, calling to mind the story years ago now when Patti berated a theatergoer for using their cel phone. Naturally the latest rant went viral and the responses have been amazing / hilarious.
If you say “I pay your salary” to anyone ever you should immediately banned from like, Earth, but if you think that’s something you can say to Patti LuPone?????
— Rachel Shukert (@RachelShukert) May 11, 2022
I’ve been paying (a tiny portion of) Patti’s salary since 1985, and it’s been money well spent.
— Burnside Gooch (@akakarenwilson) May 11, 2022
Fun fact: an obscure NYC law states that Patti LuPone is allowed to kill one person a year with her bare hands.

A reality tv show where Patti LuPone travels the country in search of people who need to be yelled at
— Tom Zohar (@TomZohar) May 11, 2022
The last person to yell “I pay your salary!” to Patti LuPone was Andrew Lloyd Webber and he hasn’t had a hit since https://t.co/UFyGlC9sua
— José María Luna (@JoseMLuna) May 11, 2022
Patti LuPone is a classic Long Island Italian woman: the kindest, most loyal & caring, super fun ball of energy if you’re on her good side and the thing you should fear most if you’re on her bad side.
— Just Jack (@luxurytrash_) May 11, 2022
Statistics show that the chance that Patti LuPone will ask you “who do you think you are?” across a crowded theatre is much higher than you think.
— John Wascavage (@JohnWascavage) May 11, 2022
If Patti LuPone told me to "get the fuck out" I would exit whatever establishment we are in, walk to the nearest river, jump in, and never be seen again.

haven't weighed in on the Patti LuPone thing im still doing my devotions in front of her shrine at my house
