NATHANIEL R in Don't Worry Darling, box office

by Nathaniel R

Don't Worry Darling opened at #1 which is impressive for two reasons. The first is that the press was of the "what a hot mess" rather than "what a good movie!" variety. The second, as Rob Watson pointed out on twitter, is that this marks the second consecutive weekend where a film directed by a woman starring a woman opened at #1 playing above expectations...

Gender parity in Hollywood has been a hot button topic for a handful of years now but we're beginning to see real results in what kind of movies open and, now, which are successful.

What did you see these past few days? I was dealing with stuff at home so i turned to my comfort food tv which basically means "supernatural YA stuff" and did Season 2 of Fate: The Winx Saga. I also finished the 1951 movie I had left Death of a Salesman and FINALLY recorded the 1951 Supporting Actress Smackdown so that's coming up soon.
