NATHANIEL R in Oscars (80s), first and last

We're bringing back one of our greatest hits like an aging band on tour.
CAN YOU GUESS THE MOVIE FROM ITS FIRST AND LAST SHOTS?

If you heard the sound there, you'd immediately know the answer but the last shot (after the jump) will surely give it a way...

Yes it's one of the saving graces of 80s cinema, Little Shop of Horrors (1986) adapted from the iconic Off-Broadway smash and currently streaming on Max. The movie arrived in a time when the culture just wasn't appreciating movie musicals but it holds up.  The first shot there, kicks off with the opening note of "Skid Row" which is a perfect first number for a movie musical. Don't deny it.

Little Shop of Horrors was nominated for just two Oscars for Best Visual Effects and Best Original Song ("Mean Green Mother from Outer Space" which it lost to Aliens and Top Gun's "Take My Breath Away" respectively. Those losses are understandable but it really should have been up for other Oscars, too: Ellen Greene, Steve Martin, Best Costume Design, Best Art Direction!

How often have you seen this gem and what's your favourite song?
