Don't be scared Rose Byrne. You'll be in the sequels. Yes, it's the original Insidious (2011) which is currently streaming on Max. The fifth (!) installment of this horror series Insidious: The Red Door (2023) is now playing in theaters. Are you a fan? This time Patrick Wilson (who also stars) is behind the camera. It's his directorial debut. Maybe he was tired of being relegated to 'the leading man husband' in horror franchises (see also The Conjuring) and wanted to challenge himself?
Too bad he never gets any film or stage musicals to have a dual career like, say, Hugh Jackman. Wilson, a former Tony nominee with one of the most beautiful male voices you'll hear, hasn't been on Broadway since 2009 and he hasn't been in a proper musical since 2004.
The last time we can remember him singing anything is when he did "Loving You" with Barbra Streisand for her duets album. What a waste of THAT voice!
