This past week we asked the team to pick some favourite screen kisses for Valentine's and we must thank them for reminding us of the sexy canoodling in Notorious, Last of the Mohicans, Love Simon, Spider-Man, and The Notebook. This weekend we're bringing it back to the now or at least the very recent with the 2018 Film Bitch Nominations for our three lustiest categories: Best Kiss, Best Love/Sex Scene and Sexpot of the Year.

BEST KISS
"Esti, do you think I should go back early?"
"No... No... No, I don't you should leave at all."

How spectacular are the Rachels in Disobedience? Their long-deferred romance has such intimate regret, longing, tactile truth-telling, and history in both their kissing and, later, in their more erotic hotel room rendezvous. They're two of the nominees in the Best Kiss category along with Nick Robinson & Keiynan Lonsale (who we were just discussing in Dan's Love Simon piece), and three other screen couples. We also have a wonderful selection of pastries and I just put on a hot pot of coffee.

BEST LOVE / SEX SCENE
American movies often skimp on sex scenes but sometimes, when the actors and screenplay are on fire even their coy implied nature can feel like fully realized scene work as in the dramatically and comically revealing pseudo-threesome in Tully when Marlo and Tully, posing as a 60s diner waitress, surprise Marlo's unsuspecting hubby Drew in bed one night. "What's going on?," indeed, Drew! What is going on? But just go with it. Marlo never asks you for much. Click for the chart to see more nominees and finalists...

SEXPOT OF THE YEAR
Yup, this means the other 'character specific' awards: Hero, Villain, and Diva of the year categories are on their way next. But for now check out Joanna Kulig's fiery Zula from Cold War and other nominees and finalists who surely got their fair share of cinephiles hot & bothered this past season.

BONUS CATEGORY
It has nothing to do with sex but we also put up the nominees for Best Poster... while we were updating. And, you'll notice that the tally for number of nominations is updated, too, to reflect all 24 categories announced thus far. Cold War and A Star is Born are currently leading with 8 and 7 nominations respectively with 16 categories left to announce.
