The Art Directors Guild and the American Cinema Editors Guild announced their winners last night. The results indicate support for multiple films vying for Best Picture with Encanto (not a Best Picture nominee) the only film to win at both ceremonies last night. King Richard made news winning the Drama Editing prize over presumedly stronger Best Picture hopefuls like Dune and Power of the Dog but who knows what Oscar might choose. Statistically, believe it or not, this win is not necessarily a big plus in King Richard's column (other than to be recognized which if of course wonderful on its own!). AMPAS has a differnet voting body and they often choose differently in the editing category.

ADG Art Directors Guild Awards
PERIOD FEATURE FILM
“The French Dispatch” (Production Designer: Adam Stockhausen)
“Licorice Pizza” (Production Designer: Florencia Martin)
★ “Nightmare Alley” (Production Designer: Tamara Deverell)
“The Tragedy of Macbeth” (Production Designer: Stefan Dechant)
“West Side Story” (Production Designer: Adam Stockhausen)
This is very good news for Nightmare Alley as this win often correlates with a future Oscar win. Previous recent examples are Mank (2020), Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), The Shape of Water (2017), and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). But on the other hand... the award for Fantasy does triumph at the Oscars sometimes. Therefore if you're predicting you must also consider...
FANTASY FEATURE FILM
“Cruella” (Production Designer: Fiona Crombie)
★ “Dune” (Production Designer: Patrice Vermette)
“Ghostbusters: Afterlife” (Production Designer: François Audouy)
“The Green Knight” (Production Designer: Jade Healy)
“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” (Production Designer: Sue Chan)
Dune is a very possible Oscar winner in the parallel Academy category because, just like Nightmare Alley, it can rack up votes whether a specific Academy member thinks about "Best" or "Most"... since we know there are both kinds of voters. Recent winners of this category to go on to an Oscar win that were also immersive genre films include Black Panther (2018) and Mad Max Fury Road (2015).
CONTEMPORARY FEATURE FILM
“Candyman” (Production Designer: Cara Brower)
“Don’t Look Up” (Production Designer: Clayton Hartley)
“In the Heights” (Production Designer: Nelson Coates)
“The Lost Daughter” (Production Designer: Inbal Weinberg)
★ “No Time to Die” (Production Designer: Mark Tildesley)
The winner of this category rarely wins the Oscar but that's less about differences between the ADG and the Academy than it is about the disrespect shown to contemporary-set films in the craft categories on the regular... with all awards bodies that don't have specific "Contemporary" prizes. The only time in the past 20 years that the ADG winner here also claimed the Oscar was La La Land (2016).

ACE "Eddie" Awards
BEST EDITED FEATURE FILM (DRAMATIC)
Last year's winner in this category, Trial of Chicago 7 did not go on to win the Oscar losing to the film it beat here, Sound of Metal. The same thing occurred the previous year when Parasite won the Eddie the year before but lost Editing to Ford V Ferrari at the Oscars. The last time a film won this category AND the Oscar was Bohemian Rhapsody (shudder) for 2018 but it's fairly comon for the winner to be different at the Oscars.
BEST EDITED FEATURE FILM (COMEDY)
Tick Tick Boom! is the only Editing achievement nominated at Oscar this year which is NOT nominated for Best Picture. Can it pull off a surprise win? Unfortunately for tick tick BOOM! the eventual Oscar winner does not usually come from this category. Still wouldn't it be wild if it won without a Best Picture nod. It has happened before but only once since the expansion of the Best Picture field. That one time was The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011).
