HOW'D THEY GET NOMINATED?
WHO WAS SHUT OUT?
In terms of precursor attention the odd man out was Paul Mescal (Hamnet) who belonged in the lead category anyway so we aren't upset about it. The greater tragedy is that Andrew Scott, absolute perfection in a true supporting role in Blue Moon couldn't get arrested all season even after winning the acting prize at Berlinale. Other men who had a smidgeon of buzz included Miles Caton (Sinners)
WHO WILL WIN?
Stellan Skarsgård is probably headed for the win for his great work (in a leading role) as a narcissist auteur in Sentimental Value... unless the Sinners team can manage a career honors campaign for Delroy Lindo.
WHO SHOULD WIN?
My vote would go to either Del Toro or Penn (I have to eliminated Elordi & Skarsgård right off the bat since those are leading roles).
