The instruments of Sara Bareilles and Brandi Carlisle are of course things of unreal beauty; even better the lyrics and sapphic duet are a perfect fit to the moving doc.

Most of the hits in this fun movie are believably popular. The signature hit from the fictional group Huntrix hit #1 in reality which only proves the point.

This composition which ends Sex (Dreams Love) in such a vulnerable awkward 'come see me perform in an avant garde Christian Choir concert' is uniquely affecting

Not since 70s electric fused with 40s big bands in Xanadu has a movie gotten this much mileage from musical era's colliding in a single scene.

Of the two new songs, this is the the standout Act Two always needed, providing a self-reflective character arc for regretful complicit Glinda.

Finalists: "Soda Pop" performs a similar trick as "Golden" super believable as an instant viral senstation to launch a new boy band, and the Amanda Seyfried led ballad "Clothed by the Sun" from The Testament of Ann Lee.

Semi Finalists:The Ballad of Wallis Island should have focused on musical numbers more but "Our Love" is a standout small beauty, KPop Demon Hunter's "What It Sounds Like" provides an epic pop melodrama finale, Nick Cave's titular "Train Dreams" is well suited to the movie; Nine Inch Nails' "As Alive As You Need Me To Be" goes hard for Tron Ares, and even if we wished it had been a little weirder or spacier, Avatar Fire and Ash's "Dream As One" provides us with the regular Miley Cyrus fix we're always craving.
