This page is complete but for a massive time-loss problem in which I lost the write-ups and finalists lists. Apologies. I'll fill in after the season ends.

It's a dream gig with plot points or details focused on the clothes (the borrowed dress, modelling swimsuit, undergarments in the factory). She shares the bright cheerful temperament of the film. |

These characters aren't fashionistas (with the exception of LaBeouf -- the fringe gives it away) but the looks are just right and memorable. Especially smart is that Mattie's clothes are too big for her. |
Finalists: Jenny Beavan did her usual period wonders for THE KING'S SPEECH and she even let Helena wear one of her own pairs of granny shoes | Jeffrey Kurland dressed up his dream invaders in sleek corporate espionage chic INCEPTION - and how great did Marion Cotillard look? | Mark Bridges made authetically no-budget 90s looks memorable and character specific in THE FIGHTER | Semi-Finalists: Michael Kaplan glammed and feathered and boa'ed the dolls in BURLESQUE | Colleen Atwood erred on the side of fussy (as is her wont) but her ALICE IN WONDERLAND's looks still show her absurd talent | Christine Clark works foam latex and actual lights into tech-heavy costumes in TRON LEGACY | Brenda Broer does very subtle costume work in CAIRO TIME that helps Patty Clarkson's gradual emotional flowering. That last gown is a lulu. |

If Oscar can keep monkeying with their number of nominees, so can I. Finalists: DESPICABLE ME had its madcap in-the-moment charms but the story was forgettable. |
