"How Does a Moment Last Forever" Kevin Kline and Emma Watson BEAUTY & THE BEAST |
"Remember Me" Anthony Gonzalez and Ana Ofelia Murguia, Gael Garcia Bernal, Benjamin Bratt COCO |
"Rewrite the Stars" Zac Efron & Zendaya THE GREATEST SHOWMAN |
"This is Me" Keala Settle and Cast THE GREATEST SHOWWMAN |
Such passion and such a rousing stomping climax (before the title reprise). Bonus points for that great viral video of rehearsal | For the most part the movie is content to just recreate moments done better before. But this invention really works. | A delight every time no matter who is singing it, but that finale reprise is *cries non-stop* | Is it the movie's best song? If not, it's close. Inarguably it's most creative choreography. Love the mix of polish and rehearsal. | Anthemic popcorn bliss. The movie's lynchpin moment. All the color, excitement, defiance, and Keala killing it, too. |
Finalists: "The Other Side" from The Greatest Showman Semi Finalists: "Another Day in the Sun" cast from Beauty and the Beast, "A Million Dreams" from The Greatest Showman, "Gaston" from Beauty & the Beast, "The World Es Mi Familia" from Coco, "Un Poco Loco" from Coco Note: If a musical number ends or starts a film it is part of the opening / ending category. |

Lipsynch joy with father/son endearments for extra adorability | Dance party in the night air. Memed to infinity but ever watchable | "I mean if you fix me a drink I'll come in and clean your bathroom" | Impromptu duet, color returning to their lives. But then... |
Bewigged throwdown. And different eras colliding. |

Masterful choreography and sustained stuntwork. You can feel the adrenaline and exhaustion | One of the year's most inventive scenes. Ultimately quite terrifying, with each blow foretold | Luke vs Kylo shell game light saber battle and the desperate defense beforehad | So much fun. No wonder The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) draws such big enthusiastic crowds | Rousing and inspiring with the kind of sober beauty most superhero movies wish they could capture |
