Who SHOULD win? Reader's Choice
PAUL RACI won with 47% of your votes
How'd I do on my predictions?
4/5 Didn't see LaKeith Stanfield coming of course. Who knew that both titular characters were not leading the film that is exclusively about the two of them. I had predicted Boseman for Da 5 Bloods.
Who was left out? | ||||
Category Fraud enrages us there at TFE as you know so this is an unhappy category as you could argue that 80% of this category is leading men. We'll accept Sacha Baron Cohen (nominated on our own ballot) because that film is so much of large ensemble piece -- even though he has the largest role therein -- but otherwise these are leading men with the exception of the wonderful Paul Raci. Among character actors who never had a chance due to category fraud and the lockstep acceptance of it among precursor voting bodies we'll pour one out for Glynn Turman and Colman Domingo (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom), Bo Burhnam (Promising Young Woman), Charles Dance (Mank), David Straithairn (Nomadland) and more...
Who will win? | ||||
This will clearly be Kaluuya. Yes he has internal competition now but it will hardly matter as once you start winning everything the Oscar voters always fall in line.
Who should win? Nathaniel's Choice
Paul Raci obviously given that he's actually a supporting actor!
How'd they get nominated?
Trivia regarding these men
Fourth CONSECUTIVE person to get an acting nom and a songwriting nom in the same year. What a crazy sudden trend.
Which clips should they show at the Oscars? You tell us...
