Nat, with your newfound appreciation for Helen Hunt's work in The Sessions, I wonder if, in retrospect, you've come to a different assessment of her Oscar-winning performance for As good as it gets. Ive always found you a tad harsh in your comments on her and the movie in general. Is time a healer?

A quick question that popped into my mind regarding Oscar rules. We know that an actor can get nominated in either the lead or supporting category depending on the votes and despite the campaigning being done before. But what would happen in a case of category fraud in which the votes are so split that a performance would get enough votes to be nominated in both categories This infamously happened to Barry Fitztgerald for 'Going my way'... I know there must exist a rule to decide on this situations, but I have no ide what it is!

Obviously, this question occurred to me when thinking how fun Winslet's sudden change of category for 2008's 'The Reader' was, since messed up everyone's predictions! I'm quite sure she probably would have received nomination in both, so I'm curious to know how that could've happened (there's also the question of whether she may have received enough votes as lead for 'Revolutionary Road', but that's easier to understand, since only the most voted performance of both would've gotten nominated)

Is there a geological divide b/w Argo and Zero Dark Thirty?

Critics groups that prefer Argo:
Houston, Phoenix, Denver, San Diego, Florida, Southeastern, Oklahoma, St. Louis, Dallas, Central Ohio

Critics groups that prefer ZD30:
New York, Boston, Chicago, DC, Vancouver, Austin, Utah, LA, SF, Toronto, Las Vegas

With the exception of Utah, it seems like critics at more conservative places prefer Argo to ZD30. Does that make any sense?

Could PSH being the only actor in his category without a Best Supporting Actor trophy help him at all?
