Curio: 10 Years of The Incredibles

Alexa here with your weekly art appreciation.  Hard to believe that it's been 10 years since the release of The Incredibles.  The (hopefully) happy news that Brad Bird is working on a sequel was followed by the sad news of Elizabeth Peña's passing; she was so recognizable as the voice of Mirage.  Here's hoping that everyone else returns (Sara Vowell!), especially my personal favorite, Edna Mode (voiced by Brad Bird himself).

Here are some curios to celebrate a decade of this superhero family...

Tom Whalen's poster for Mondo, available here.

Hand-painted Edna tee, available here.Matroyshka dolls available here.

Just in time for the holidays, a Mr. Incredible wreath.

Limited-edition posters by Eric Tan that hang at Pixar headquarters. Some prints still available here.

Edna flair. Available here.

Fourth one down is The Flash. Not Incredibles related.

Well, depending on WHEN the sequel is going to be set, Spencer Fox can't return either.

Thanks Resident Geek, that got Flash and Frozone confused! Noted.

"No Capes!" is simply slaying.
Edna Mode I bow to you!

I hope to finally see a sequel for this. The ending practically SCREAMED it!

I love the movie, but I don't understand how many people demand a sequel. Why can't a great movie stand alone? Film history shows us, that nine times out of ten, the sequel disappoints...

This is one of the few animated films I have enjoyed. Holly Hunter is such a special actress. Wish we got more of her.

I too don't need a sequel. A bad sequel often spoils my appreciation of the original. There is nothing wrong with "Leaving them wanting more."

Toy Story 2 and 3 were great, but I really wish Pixar wouldn't do sequels. Cars 2 was even shittier than Cars and Monsters University had NONE of the beauty of Monsters Inc.
