I don't know why, but I just adore it. The feeling it gives. I know that sounds terribly vague.

Gorgeous. And I'm not just talking about Moore and Haysbert.

I prefer it to Carol. Julianne = Jane Wyman. Haysbeth = Rock Hudson. Clarkson = Agnes Moorehead.

Marcos: By a wide margin. Carol's not bad, but Carol winds up not really being ABOUT anything other than an ambiguously doomed romance. Far From Heaven is about a lot more and works because it is. Also: Julianne = Shirley Maclaine. Haysbert = Poitier. Clarkson = Agnes Moorehead. Quaid = Rock Hudson.

Best movie of 2002. A cinematic orgasm.

Peggy Sue: Best, or second best, movie of that entire DECADE. Only the equally boldly stripped down Before Sunset is close or above it.

Volvagia, Marcos is referring to All That Heaven Allows, the Sirk template for Far From Heaven.

A true American movie classic

Paul: Oh. Whoops.

Here comes the tears. That ending kills me every time.

Masterpiece.

Right, Paul. Yes, I was making reference to All That Heaven Allows.

Me when my friends ask me why I love Carol so much.
