Look who got to meet President Obama!

A heartwarming photo to start your day!

That's little Sunny Pawar, who is so wonderful in the Best Picture hopeful Lion (2016), meeting the President himself. Pawar is serving as the ambassador for the #LionHeart campaign. The campaign has already raised $100,000 for charities that provide support and resources for the millions of children living on the streets of India. You can read more about the campaign at Lion's official site.

You can see more Photos of Sunny's visit to the White House at People.com

Absolutely beautiful. I guess Nicole Kidman was too busy campaigning for Donald Trump to attend.

Genuine question - did TWC sleep on trying to get Sunny a Best Actor nomination? *Everyone* seems to think he steals the show. I know they don't go for child male actors often, but they did give a Best Actress nomination to a seven-year-old so...

Glenn -- they could have nabbed him a supporting actor slot (or at least a healthy chance at it ) merely by admitting that Dev Patel was the lead ;)

I have no idea why they didn't campaign harder for Sunny Pawar. "Lion" works because of him, and any goodwill the audience has towards Dev Patel's mopy and sullen portrayal is due to Sunny.

SUNNNNNNYY!!!! I could've spent a few more minutes with him in the movie TBH.

His performance is extraordinary. He's the main reason why the movie works so well. That photo just makes my day, thanks for posting!

ITA Nathaniel. And as we discussed on Twitter, Dev Patel could've landed a lead nomination as well given 1) love for Lion 2) his rising status as a heartthrob & actor and 3) the weakness of the Best Actor category this year especially compared to Best Actress.

OMG Sunny is so cute though and THOSE SHOES. Adorableness overload!

You know how they feel about women. The also had an opportunity last year to make a little boy happen in either category and they chose not to.
