My order of preference for this series:
1st (March): 1951-Let’s start out with a bang.
2nd (April): 1997- Even though it’s the postponed Oscar ceremony (4/25...final voting starts 4/15), I could do without the 2020 season. Really prefer to see the films in a movie theater and there’s too much ‘hype’ at the time. I like to let the dust settle and view the performances after time has passed. That being said-seems that everyone is eager for this year and why not pay homage to the victims of the Titanic than by watching this movie on the fateful voyage anniversary of April 14th/15th...
3rd- May/June: 1946-Bring in the warm weather and chill out to some ‘40s ‘feel good’ movies.
4th- July/August: 2000-Almost Famous (2 noms.) feels like a summer movie to me. Great to revisit what it was like to go to rock concert ‘back in the day.’
5th-September: 1998-Back to school and read your Shakespeare (whose In Love).
6th-October: 2004-Fall is here. Time for the ‘serious’ movies.
7th-November: 1986- Hannah and her Sisters starts and ends on Thanksgiving.
8th-December: 1937- Time to end it with some classics (even though the great Chicago Fire occurred in October).

I'd break these smackdowns up instead of doing them all at once cuz it's overkill. Next up should be lead actress. That's the logical conclusion to what this site has been building up to, is it not? I'd watch smackdowns of all the acting categories, but heaven forbid you talk about men around here.

I vote for 1997.

What about 1969....I recall reading that. The Goldie Hawn year. I’d like to read that again.
