"Dick" it is!

Much to our surprise, y'all selected the Kirsten Dunst/Michelle Williams comedy Dick (1999) as our film of the week in the readers poll. So watch it before Friday (it's on Pluto free with ads or rentable anywhere) so we can have a good conversation on March 31st. (Last week we devoured Babette's Feast) We should ask you to vote earlier each week so on Wednesday look for the poll for April 7th discussion to go up so you'll have more of a headstart on voting/watching.

Fri March 31st - Dick (1999)
Fri April 7th -TBA voting starts Wednesday
Fri April 14th - Fatal Attraction (1987) since I owe a patient reader a piece on that.

I fucking love this movie. My favorite scene is where Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams go to the Oval office during a meeting between Leonid Brezhnev, Richard Nixon, and Henry Kissinger where the girls gave Brezhnev and Kissinger these cookies (though the girls are unaware it's laced with marijuana) as they're called Hello Dollies. Brezhnev starts to laugh and then sing "Hello Dolly" with Kissinger joining in. Saul Rubinek is PERFECT as Kissinger.

The scene where Woodward and Bernstein follow them to the library and they say something like "We're very stressed. We have a report due on turquoise jewelry and we can't find anything about it" is a classic moment in cinema. Such an underrated movie.

Who would've thought at this that that Michelle Williams would've become the Oscar darling of these two. Meanwhile, we feel lucky that Kirsten Dunst finally has one nomination. I haven't seen this movie since I was young, I should really rewatch. A lot of fun.

Don't be surprised Nathaniel, we are as actressexuals as you.

I voted for another film but I knew this gonna win, if you have two phenomenal actresses leading, you know this is the one to watch

I remember this movie as being pretty darned adorable and Williams and Dunst being pretty hilarious so I'm going to try to watch.
