That film just grows in stature with every year that passes.

Joe -- i was watching "Billy on the Street" last night and one of the things he was screaming at people was 'one day we'll all be sorry about how we treated Meg Ryan.' priceless reactions from innocent bystanders.

Yet another reason to love this site: counting strange days as part of new years eve scenes. People always seem to forget that one.
I second the opinion that When Harry Met Sally grows over time. I was a teenager when I first saw it. Now in my mid 30s, there are so many new things you recognize and love because of your own relationship snafus.
The Poseidon Adventure was probably the first older movie (that is, not a new release) that I fell in love with-- it happened when I was eight or so-- and oddly, I think watched it on a New Year's Day when I was sick. Shelly Winters is so lovable in it.
Just one movie, Nate: the original Ocean's Eleven, where the multi-casino heist is pulled right after the stroke of midnight on New Year's.
Speaking of fun film facts - an earlier script for Moulin Rouge (which thankfully was not the one they made) had Satine dying very specifically at the stroke of midnight on New Year's 1900; that was the one element of that early script I loved.
Speaking of love - I haven't watched Harry Met Sally in years, so maybe it's safe to revisit. I watched it over and over and over back in the day and somehow never grew tired of it. It's still one of those "films I think of when I think of films". (Carrie Fisher was never better, says I.)
And more love - Martha Plimpton. That is all.
It would be amiss of me not to mention The Fabulous Baker Boys.
Spending New Year's Eve with Jack and Susie is always a pleasure.
