Shame on Them.

Jose here. I have to apologize in advance but I have to confess that every time I read new stories about Steve McQueen's Shame, I can't help but start singing this song. Today after seeing the first official pics of the movie, I couldn't help it either.

Carey Mulligan in all her Marilyn Monroe-esque glory plays the "wayward" sister to a sex-addict played by Michael Fassbender and according to the movie's official synopsis, things get out of control after she moves in with him.

Shame is the sophomore effort of British artist Steve McQueen, whose previous film Hunger won a ton of awards (including some right here) and introduced most of us to the marvelous Fassbender. The film had already sparked some controversy after a not-so-shy shoot in NYC took some by surprise and is set to debut at this year's Toronto Film Festival.

Excited to see what McQueen does this time? Thrilled to see Fassy and CaMu together or is their current reign as "go-to-actors for everything" exhausting you already?

Nope, not tired of either them yet. So utterly watchable by themselves and together? I can't even imagine. Though I should probably watch Hunger soon before I see this film.

Not sick of either, but how is Carey the current go-to-girl? She's working with two relative newcomers this year and only has one film next year.

Really excited about this. I like Hunger, I like the two actors and the story seems very intiguing.
I wanna go too! :p

Dying for this. "Hunger" is a masterpiece.

How on earth could I tire of Carey? Just her face puts me in a ridiculously good mood. I think I may have lost my ticket to the Fassbender bandwagon (do you actually buy tickets for bandwagons, but I digress...). I'm ready to admit that's he's probably on his way to being a good/great actor. But, I'm not quite there with the effusive love. But, with all the films out this year I suppose that maybe he'll wear me down.

Just seen Hunger and was blown away! I love Carey Mulligan and cannot have enough of her. Absolutely cannot wait for this.

I find Carey Mulligan unexceptional (there, I said it!), but Fassbender has got IT in spades. I'll watch this if the reviews are good.

The Fassbender/Mulligan (also Hardy/Gosling/Williams/Wasikowska) unanimous love bores me.

It looks to me, from those photos, as if the cinematography might be the real star of Shame!! Love Fassbender though.

This excites me a lot!

Fassy, Carey, Stevie - can you ask for more? Hunger was thrilling and haunting and it definitely looks like this will be, too.

I'm with Dave on this one, I don't find Carey Mulligan that fantastic either. However, I will see this because McQueen and Fassy's last outing was amazing. And the topic as serious drama could be fantastic.
