It'd definitely been the year or archery what with Brave, The Avengers and The Hunger Games among the top blockbusters. And now we have gifted archers on two television series: Revolution and Arrow... which is also about a guy who shoots arrows. That's kind of his thing. Before this trend dies a swift death from ubiquity, can someone please give actual archer and awesome actress Geena Davis a good role and combine the two?

LOVE that Angie and campaigning for Ewan. Best move for Angie since her leg out strut at the Oscars.

Love that in the picture that goes with that great news of the screening of The Impossible, over at Incontention, McGregor looks like he might touching the lower side of Jolie's right boob.
I'd love to see him winning an Oscar. It's so true that he was as good ad Plummer in Beginners.

True story: I first noticed this guy I ... when I eavesdropped that he thinks McGregor is an underrated actor. Anyone who thinks that has my attention automatically.

You left off We Need to Talk About Kevin from the Year of Archery list. Okay, technically, it came out at the end of 2011, but I want to include just for the creepout factor.

regarding the French Newcomers what a pity that Berenice Marlohe was ineligible, since they don't consider performances by french thespians in their movies abroad...since she's really a find in SKYFALL...and the definitive breakthrough for what concernes a french actress this year, even if her role in Severine was quite short...

The article about film scores is enjoyable. It's a great list, but I would put Doctor Zhivago and Exodus in the Top Ten. I have a soft spot for John Williams' terrific score for The Towering Inferno, far and away my favorite of his.

Mirko -- agreed that Marlohe was something else in SKYFALL. so sexy and just the right notes of fear.
