Im so exited for the oscars
I've come to the realization that no matter who wins Best Actress, it will be exciting. If Viola wins then perfect (she's my favorite), and if Meryl wins it will be a historic win for her (also exciting!). But if anyone else wins it will be such an upset... and I love surprise winners!
Excitement is the order of the evening for me. I like a lot of this year's nominations, I like The Artist, I have high hopes for Billy Crystal's comeback - bring it on!
Nathaniel, have a great evening, and thanks as ever for your wonderful site.
Happy Oscars, everyone!
Are you gonna do a live blogging? Only the show or also red carpet? :)
Thanks for your work, I'm looking forward to see your live comments ;)
Nathaniel, I've thoroughly enjoyed your blog this year, since finding it from "Oscar from the Outside In" through Google, so I'm wishing a wonderful and exciting Oscar day!

Excited! Star Lust!
Excited! this is Christmas...
p.s. finger crossed for Melissa!
HAPPY OSCARS!
Come on Viola, Melissa and The Tree Of Life!
Go Chastain, Oldman and Streep! (why do I never root for the frontrunners? I find myself disappointed every year).
At least The Artist is a safe bet!
I'm a nervous wreck for Viola.
Q: When is the last time Best Actor has been so sexy?
PS: Clooney is the least sexiest of the nominees in his category. I want to take Demian and Gary home.
everything but indifference ... this is the second most exciting day of the year [after nomination morning of course]
You shouldn't be nervous for Viola 3rtfull. She's getting the gold home tonight. I am the one who should be nervously seeing michelle lost 2nd time in a role in two years straight.
Adding Brad Pitt.
This is the first year since I started following the Oscars that I have absolutely no investment in the outcome. A fantastic film year represented by a very underwheliming set of nominees, particularly in the acting categories.
The winners are locked in at this point (and we all probably know who they are), so all I'm hoping for is a fun, memorable show!
forever1267 -- thank you. stick around. we blog all year.
GO MELISSA McCARTHY!!
@chand
Black women and Best Actress is a lot like Best Actress for women in their 50s--it's only happened once before.
I'm worried I made a bunch of wrong calls and will do poorly in my Oscar pool: the sound categories, costumes, cinematography.
Also, I realize how much I want Viola to win! I can already feel myself mad if she doesn't win.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Oscar Party Menu:
Hugo croissants
Moneyball ballpark peanuts and crackerjacks (and beer)
Minnie's fried chicken from The Help...
...served with Extremely Loud & Incredibly HOT SAUCE
War Horse's Narracott family shepherd's pie
Artist-ic black & white cookies
Descendants family-style strawberry and coffee ice cream
Cafe au lait at Midnight, in Paris
Various alcoholic beverages inspired by the visions of the creation of the universe in The Tree of Life
All I want is one surprise. I will be wildly disappointed at a night of Plummer, Spencer, Dujardin, Davis, Hazanavicius, The Artist winners. Just one upset. JUST ONE!
"Just one upset. JUST ONE!"
Art Direction! Harry Potter! Let it be so!
