Live with Soderbergh
Hey guys
I was on HuffPostLive with Steven Soderbergh earlier today. I'm the bald one *without* the awesome filmography.
Sadly I only got one question in though you know I had a whole list. I haven't done a lot of these talking head gigs but it would be sweet to do more. Practice making slightly less imperfect.
After the interview I hit Side Effects. I know that's backwards but I don't control screening schedules. More on that one next week. But as you'll see in the interview Soderbergh is a thoughtful articulate filmmaker and I'll be sad to see him retire post Behind the Candelabra.

This will just sound wrong but—how the hell did you get that?
LOVED your question on how he uses and taps into movie stars - and loved his answer even more. Although I find the idea of a movie star NOT knowing why people love them alternately completely absurd and so, SO right.
3rtful -- um. cuz this site is popular? actually i'm not sure why. i've never been sure why i get invited or don't to the things that i do or don't get invited to.
Denny - thank u. I was hoping to get more questions in but it is what it is!
ooh, great snag! I saw this too late so i'll have to watch the replay though. lots of great interviews this past few months!
Streep is coming....
but i'd really want to see an interview with Renée Zellweger. Not only for the "oh, snap." factor of it but i'm genuinely curious as to why she pretty much just stopped working or making appearances.
Why are you bald?
When are your acting nominees coming in FB Awards? AKA my Oscars
Gustavo - cuz i have no hair? cuz i shave my head?
We'd like more of these, please!
patryk -- more tv punditry? I am so bad on camera *sniffle*
Not posted anywhere, currently?
Seems like you got more in than the other two! You did fine ;)
Loved, loved, loved.
Your question >>>> everything everyone else was asking (though I like the Liberace info). And yeah, really smart answer from him.
you're popular, yes, and i'm glad you're getting good this from the wonderful website. but maybe we could earn a lot of money with those fyc ads, too. this website is a zillion times better than awards daily and incontention and hollywood-elsewhere (yes, you're the best oscar blogger) and i don't see any ads here?
i know you're going to talk about side effects next week, but, for now, may we expect somthing oscar?
Cal -- trust that i'd love to have the ads. I need to eat and pay rent. But studios didn't buy this year. :( pity cuz i'm pulling down worthy numbers to earn advertiser support. (sigh)
yes, back to Oscar & Film Bitch for next few weeks.
Bleh. Your question was good. The Huffpost moderator guy was pretty insufferable though. Dude can gussy up his banal "mishaps" question with all the "I'm a huge nerd" froufrou he wants, he's still just asking Steven Soderbergh for backstage gossip. At least Soderbergh was generous with his answers. Wish you'd gotten to ask more of your questions.
I meant, something Oscar from Side Effects
cal - no. 100% no.
