My Loyal Subjects...

Editor's Note: [trumpets! ♫♩] Please welcome back to The Film Experience our favorite very special guest.

Tis I, The Bening!

I thought I'd share a picture of my recent audience with loyal subjects like you in New York. Were you there? Someone made a terrible mistake and I was not on a raised dias. But the kids, they were all right.

Except this one who forgot to bow.

It's been two years since I last addressed you but I know that you have not forgotten about me. Especially not during Oscar Season where thoughts are surely never far from me. Who do you think we voted for?

Your guesses will amuse us even more than Ms Swank's current film career!

Her Majesty, Annette.

A sophisticated woman like the Bening probably will vote for Amour in every single categorie its nominated, so: Best Picture, Haneke, Riva, Original Screenplay and Foreign Film.
Following the same theory she would vote for Daniel Day-Lewis and Tony Kushner.
As for the rest, your guess is as good as mine: no idea what so ever!!

Well, I feel her majesty will vote for Argo (its politically expedient and we do like to be on the side of a winner. We married one afterall.)
DDL (see above)
Riva (such grace and finesse, like ourselves.)
Cristolf(I want him, uh to work with him that is)
Sally (we ladies of a certain age have to stick together)
Amour (its the thing to do)
Steven S (see # 1 and 2. Plus Kathryn and Ben aren't possible)
Tony K (he might write for me next)

Nice to see you back around these parts, Annette. I hope Look of Love is great and puts you in contention. It's getting to be around that time.

The Bening wrote herself in in every single category. And I would too. She's that worthy.

Hm ... I'll just make some random guesses

Picture: Either Argo, Lincoln, or maybe Amour
Actor: Day-Lewis or Phoenix
Actress: Emmanuelle Riva
Supporting Actor: Tommy Lee Jones
Supporting Actress: Anne Hathaway

Renton - YES. Fuck Ben Affleck. Write-In's for Annette for Best Documentary, Best Sound Mixing and Best Live Action Short.

The Bening is so refined and perfect that of course she made the classiest, most sophisticated choice in every category:

Best Picture: Amour
Best Director: Haneke (she'll want the Riva part when he decides to remake it in English)
Best Actor: Daniel Day Lewis
Best Actress: Riva (she'll no doubt sing "Bon Anniversaire!" to her in perfect French on Oscar night
Best Supporting Actor: Philip Seymour Hoffmann (my God, how he is not going to get every vote is beyond me... seriously, no one else comes close to comparing)
Best Supporting Actress: Sally Field (the one woman Warren didn't sleep with back in the 70s...)

Her Majesty voted for:

Picture: Lincoln

Director: Steven Spielberg

Actress: Riva

Actor: Hugh Jackman

SuppActress: Helen Hunt

SuppActor: Tommy Lee Jones (In hopes that he'll make Hope Springs 2: this time with music that makes sense with her)

Adapted Screenplay: Lincoln

Original Screenplay: Moonrise Kingdom

And a big THANK YOU to You Majesty for posting here again!

Has anyone ever thought that Annette in her glasses looks a lot like crusading Masssachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren? Could we please have a biopic in which she takes on Wall Street????

@Brian
I had the exact same thought! This needs to happen!

The Bening has graced us with her presence again? #dead

Please make another run at the Oscars before it's too late. Jennifer Lawrence is going to be an Oscar winner before you, La Bening. Think about that for a minute. It's bad enough that She Who Will Not Be Named has TWO Oscars instead of you too.

kthxbye
