An (Irrepressible) Education
The Film Experience is proud to turn the day over to Cara Seymour (currently starring in "The Knick") who will be here all day. Here's her first post!
- by Cara Seymour
My husband Josh Cheuse took this photo in the dressing room at Twickenham studios when I was filming An Education (2009) The character of Marjorie was very repressed, I guess this is a moment unleashed.
I think everyone knew that Carey Mulligan would become a big star, she just had 'it', she's a brilliant actor, fluent, funny and emotionally honest with the eyes of an old soul.
other projects:
The Knick and American Psycho, and Hotel Rwanda

Thank you for being here, Cara! An Education is one of my recent favorites, a real standout in its year and one that's stayed with me for a long time.
That said, you're serving Truth or Dare Madonna in this photo! I wish that more directors were as intuitive and openminded as your husband. The world is rooound, people!
Hayden -- omg, yes. She could just jump in with the choreography. (Before this guest-blogging I had no idea that Cara Seymour was married to a legendary rock photographer!!!)
Cara-this is one of my favorite recent movies, just loved it, particularly the way that it feels like such an ensemble piece. Jenny may be at the center, but there's so much great work happening in every corner of the movie.
Loving the BLUE theme going on now!
Love An Education and all your scenes with Alfred Molina. Carey should have won.
Lovely movie. Welcome!
This is adorable. Those costumes were so wonderful, should've been nominated that year!
I wonder-- if this is something you feel like sharing (or even something you could narrow down!) who some of your favorite scene partners have been?
Great pic :-) So glad we get to know more about you , Cara.
God that is a great picture and now makes me wish it'd been an entire series: Rosamund! Carey! Olivia! Heck, get Dom, Peter & Alfred to rock out in those gorgeous frocks.
Yay Cara! I remember feeling mindboggled when I found out that you were both Jenny's mom and Hellcat Maggie.
thanks
So glad we get to know more about you , Cara.
