On the Disney end-credit "do-overs", I agree in general, but the end-credit version of "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" in The Lion King is my preferred version of that song - better than the slightly weak version in the movie.
Mary Tyler Moore in Ordinary People is a revelation. Love the film, and her performance in the movie pierces right through the heart. Wish Sissy Spacek's performance was eligible for a different year, as Moore deserved an Oscar for her magnificent performance.

Even though Moore was only in Ordinary People for a third of the film, would you consider her role Lead or Supporting? The Academy certainly thought she was a lead. I would have to agree, as her character looms over the entire film.

The more I see of Beauty and the Beast, the less I am interested.
Nat and Edward L.: Also about the Disney end-credit do-overs... I am a huge Bette Middler fan, and one of her BEST songs ever is God Help the Outcasts which she recorded for the album The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I now read that it was not included in the film, just the soundtrack album. I didn't remember that. It is perfect for her. It's just like they wrote it with her mind.
Miguel: If Ordinary People was made today, they would consider that Mary Tyler Moore was supporting. If she had competed in the Supporting category back in 1980 she would haver certainly won. But, well, those were other times.
The animated Madonna is cute too bad that really is the best part of the movie.

On Mary Tyler Moore in Ordinary People: Before today I had never considered that hers may be a supporting role. And, having thought about it a fair amouont today (I know the film pretty well, so I've been running iit in my head and checking out some clips online), she's a lead. To my mind, there's far too much of a tendency these days to consider roles as supporting that are better-placed as leads. I think it's reasonable to consider there to be something like three or four leading roles in quite a lot of films. Ordinary People is a case in point. It's the story of a close-knit family falling apart. The film couldn't do that the way it does it if the roles weren't all prominent. And so, for me, the father (Donald Sutherland), the mother (Mary Tyler Moore) and the son (Timothy Hutton) are all leading roles. They all have leading importance. This means that Mary Tyler Moore was in the correct category, Timothy Hutton should have been a lead too, and Donald Sutherland should have been nominated (also as a lead)! Judd Hirsch's psychiatrist is a true supporting role, and so he was correctly nominated in the supporting category.

They're waiting four years? I shudder to think what other monstrosities Illumination have in store if they're waiting that long to release a sequel (I know they have another Despicable Me and another Minions)
