Yes No Maybe So: "My Cousin Rachel"

The Rachel Weiszenaissance looks to be continuing at full speed after last year's indie hit The Lobster and her good notices for the otherwise middling Light Between the Oceans. We now have the trailer for her latest project, a Victorian era thriller based on a novel by the OG spookmaster Daphne du Maurier called My Cousin Rachel.
There have already been a few film adaptations over the years, but none that star Rachel Weisz, so I'm very excited to see what this latest has to offer.
Let's do a "Yes No Maybe So" after the jump, shall we?
YES
- The score and scenery are captivating from the jump
- "She's away from the house today, that's why I'm able to write this…"
- The only thing better than a creepy letter is a creepy secret note within a creepy letter
- That first shot of Rachel in that black lace veil is phenom
- This glance
- "Now go to bed like a good boy."
- Some of this cinematography is absolutely gorgeous
- I'm excited to find out who this lady is
- That crumbling sea cliff
NO
- The wind blowing something over during a dramatic scene bit is tired
- As is a woman having her pearls ripped off dramatically
- Would it have killed them to throw an "Academy Award Winner Rachel Weisz" card in there somewhere?
MAYBE SO
- Not sure about the "drink" repetition. Is this giving too much away?
- Also not sure about the hallucination bits that is a trope that is really easy to misuse
- Although I'm intrigued by this spinning black candelabra
I, for one, am very excited to check out what My Cousin Rachel has in store for audiences after the trailer. It looks beautifully filmed, acted and not lacking in suspense.
Anyone else looking forward to Weisz's latest?

What weiszenaissance? The woman has been wearing the same face expression for a decade and making sure the genuinely talented actresses don't get any roles. (Replace her in every film with Samantha Morton: instant immeasurable improvement) By this stage she's barely a notch above a Sienna Miller in terms of range demonstrated.
I keep thinking we need a Rachel Weisz/Eva Green collaboration. Maybe something like The Little Foxes???
@Goran, tell us how you really feel! Hahaha! You're more than entitled to your thoughts and opinions, but I will just say: Robert Downey Jr. had a "renaissance" when Iron Man came out and he's been doing the same slimy, weasel-y over-cocky lothario in a suit in just about everything he did during this so called "rebirth." Range, as we perceive it, is also a very subtle and fragile thing. Not all actors can be Meryl, who actively works to sometimes overcompensate needlessly by going bigger than needed, I reckon, for that very 'range' some of us hunger for.
I always wondered what a film with Rachel Weisz and Gaby Hoffmann playing sisters would be like. I find they look so alike (the latter particularly Weisz-esque in Wild). I'd love for someone like Woody Allen to get his hands on them once he decides he'd like to return to something akin to Hannah and Her Sisters.
Rachel Weisz and Eva Green together on screen would just about break me. I'd camp out all year for that. If Almodovar ever decided he was ready to do an English-language film (age be damned!), and realized these two raven-haired beauties would be ideally suited to his molding...

I'm not sure she was the best thing in The Light Between Oceans, but I've never really understood the hate she gets. Her performances in The Constant Gardener and especially in The Deep Blue Sea are enough to make me interested in her projects. This trailer doesn't suggest the film will be much different from others like it, but I'm always game for a dark/moody period drama.

LOVE her and this type of gothic film is a favorite genre so I'm a hell yes for seeing it. I'm also curious to see how much it differs from the Olivia de Havilland/Richard Burton 50's version.
Never got her, she's one of the worst Sup. Actress Oscar winner EVER (right up there with that Vikander girl or whatever her name is who won in 2016)
