A Minute of Silence in Cannes
Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10:00AM
Cannes went silent this afternoon (a different time zone) due to the terrorist bombing at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester. Another senseless tragedy.
The official statement:
This is yet another attack on culture, youth and joyfulness, on our freedom, generosity and tolerance, all things that the Festival and those who make it possible –the artists, professionals and spectators– hold dear. The Festival de Cannes invites all festival-goers to show their solidarity with the victims, their families and the British people by observing a minute's silence this Tuesday 23 May at 3 PM.

Very sad news. I've been following it here in the UK since I woke up. This attack seems even more horrible than usual, if that's possible, given that the attacker would have known they were targeting an event at which there were many young children.
I heard about it last night and I'm just disgusted. 22 people. Some of them are just kids? What kind of cowardly asshole would do such a thing and for what? Some ideological bullshit? This shit is wrong and there's some people including parents, kids, friends, and such that are never going to recover from this so fuck you ISIS.
