Breakfast with... Magic Mike
Stale pretzels only, but it looks like all the booze is used up. Sorry!
-I'm gonna take off.
-What ?!? you're just going to leave us here?
-Uh, yeah. What are you gonna steal a bunch of my shit or something?
-Probably. That's what strangers do.
-Don't do that... maybe?
Magic Mike (2012) is a treasure. We stand by the Film Bitch Awards of 2012 in which Magic Mike was up for Best Picture (bronze medal), Best Director (bronze medal), Supporting Actor (gold medal), and Film Editing (silver medal).
Literally the only bad thing about Magic Mike is that goddamn yellow filter that Soderbergh can't let go of.

Soderbergh sure does love his yellow filters, doesn't he?
Olivia Munn is SOOOOO good in this. I wish people would realize her potential more.
Magic Mike and The Newsroom are the only times I felt she was used well.
Justice for Olivia Munn, and for that 2012-14 period during which Channing Tatum blew the doors off his film projects. (Seriously he, not Steve Carrell, ought to have been nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for Foxcatcher.)
Echoing how good Magic Mike was AND how great Olivia Munn is in it. The scene towards the middle where Mike runs into her at the restaurant with her fiancé I think? It’s all in her eyes - “I’m an adult and my life goes on” and Mike is so clearly embarrassed and belittled. Now I wanna rewatch!
That restaurant scene is tremendous. Olivia Munn deserved a nomination for this.
But boy, is that filter yellow!
Good film.
I like Magic Mike so much. Even Alex Pettyfer is good in it
I'm not a fan of the film itself, but Munn completely owns every scene she's in. The way she fills in the blanks of her character is remarkable.
I like those filters that Soderbergh uses, it adds a unique look to the film.
Yellow filter be damned, this is a great movie. I've watched it many times, and it holds up. Channing Tatum is great, Cody Horn is great, and all those background players do their thing.
My idea of breakfast with "Magic Mike" would feature if Channing Tatum was on the menu : )- a very good comedy about one young man's search for the American dream.
