Here's something I dont recommend doing if you live for the Oscars each year: getting vaccinated the day before. Had so many fun blogging plans today but vaccine reactions called and said 'you're not getting out of bed today! [EVIL LAUGH]'. On a happier note, fully vaccinated now. Woohoo. And good timing in a way since the Oscars are essentially New Years Eve for us and 2021 can start proper tomorrow.

Well done on your predictions, Nat (especially Best Song). But you should have listened to those of us who were predicting Hopkins! Proud to have felt the certainty around Boseman was media overhype from the start.
And Frances McDormand winning 3 LEADING OSCARS (And 4 in general) over Meryl Streep... Just one evil laugh!
But considering Frances is using her power for doing better films with more exciting directing voices (especially women), hats off.
So happy about the performances wins....Frances and Hopkins well deserved....so was yuh jung for best supp. actress. Leaping in joy!
What the fuck was that bullshit? I didn't watch it but I did read live-tweets and.... what the fucking fuck?
Never want to watch that again. Still, not as bad as the 1989 ceremony with Rob Lowe duetting with Snow White. The horror of that show.
I liked this format - but I didn't like the stupid "Guess the song" game they played towards the end.
And I didn't like Best Picture being presented before Best Actor and Best Actress.
I guess they were hoping for an emotional finale with Chadwick Boseman's widow making a speech. But we all know what did happen.
I am just disappointed that Frances McDormand is now tied with Katherine Hepburn with four Oscars each.
So many knickers, so many twists...
What a misstep for the producers -- they went for the emotional ending with Chadwick's family and then ended up with a no-show winner. Oops. They could and should have put Actress last as the most interesting and amazing category. But still love the outcome, agree with other posters that Hopkins's performance was outstanding. Love Chadwick but it just showed the top of Anthony's career.
Working Stiff, I actually feel like a cigarette, that's how satisfying the Oscars were this year!
@ Floyd
I know what you mean, although that cigarette would also calm my nerves after those last ten minutes...
