Complete the Chastainy Sentences...

If I could ask Jessica Chastain one question it'd be this:  ________________________________________.

She's the new _________________ because  ______________ .

When I heard she won the first Supporting Actress award of precursor season I thought _______________________ .

If I could ask Jessica Chastain one question it'd be this:
Do you feel you put a certain amount of spirituality in your work? (GAWD that sounds pretentious but I can't think of anything else)

She's the new Sally Hawkins. because she's new, fierce, everywhere, acclaimed. But not AS acclaimed as Sally. Not sure if she can do comedy like Sally either. She will probably be snubbed at the Oscars. Even for Help.

When I heard she won the first Supporting Actress award of precursor season I thought I'm so glad people are rewarding her work. But really, it's not just for one role. It's for the whole body. Therefore I don't think she'll WIN anymore unless they nominate her whole body.

I really hope she works with Tim Burton and plays Grace if Lars Von Trier ever completes his "USA" trilogy. A lesser but competent companion to Kidman. And a far improvement over Bryce Dallas Howard.

When I heard she won, I was excited because she really does live up to the hype.

I really hope she works with Woody Allen and plays a complicated, funny, screwball female character. She showed in The Help that she can be funny, but I'm worried she's going to get stuck in serious roles only. I think she'd be a great match with Woody.

If I could ask Jessica Chastain one question it would be how does it feel to become slightly unknown to ubiquitous in such a banner year of 7 pictures?

She's the new Julianne Moore because like Moore's big year '99 when she had 5 pictures in a year, she handles different genres and sizes of roles with such panache and great chops.

When I heard she won the first precursor, I found myself trying to decide which of her performances i liked the best. The Help or Take Shelter???

I really hope she works with the other great redheads...Julianne Moore, Amy Adams, Nicole Kidman, Tilda Swinton, and Emma Stone in an all female version of Chekov's 3 Sisters.

How was it that you made The Debt watchable?

She's the new Nicole Kidman because she's an ace at accents, can move easily between comedy and drama, can muster up brilliant characterizations from even the most cliched of roles and makes even the most drab proceedings bearable, and is beautiful, duh.

When I heard she won the first Supporting Actress award of precursor season I thought that someone should bump Carey Mulligan or Shailene Woodley from his Supporting Actress predictions.

I really hope she works with: Woody's an excellent idea but I'd love to see Charlie Kaufman give her an indelible role and the opportunity to deliver a career-best performance, a la Kate (and I guess Cameron, although I guess that's more due to slim pickings if anything).

If I could ask Jessica Chastain one question it'd be this: Who are her actress inspiration(s)?

She's the new Streep/Blanchett/Lange because I say so. Her range is very much in the Streep/Blanchett wheelhouse of acting but the Lange factor is the potential to get very raw and unguled -- she doesn't have Lange's beauty but no one does not even Lange these days.

When I heard she won the first Supporting Actress award of precursor season I thought she's positioned for an Oscar nomination for sure. Don't be surprised if she becomes a double nominee this year!--Just like Lange.

I really hope she works with Jessica Lange and plays her estranged daughter.

If I could ask Jessica Chastain one question it'd be this: "Would you like to get dinner sometime?", but only if I were in a situation where it wasn't creepy to ask. Otherwise, probably something stock like: "If you could bring any character or historical figure to the big screen, who would it be and why?" Or maybe: "I see you're working on the latest Nick Cave-John Hillcoat collaboration (Wettest County). What drew you to that project?"

She's the new Michael Shannon, though it has nothing to do with how they worked (oh so well) together, but because they are both incredibly talented and always welcome on whatever screen I'm looking at. Ubiquity is indeed the name of their game.

When I heard she won the first Supporting Actress award of precursor season I thought that she could do it, she could go all the way, but had better pick a film to campaign for and stick to it. And I kind of hoped it would be The Tree of Life because I honestly feel that that is where she will have the most luck.

I really hope she works with Bryan Cranston and Gillian Anderson and plays the younger sister of the latter who contemplates having an affair with the former, her character's brother-in-law, in a sizzling and loud domestic drama directed by... Paul Verhoeven. But seriously, I just hope she gets to work with great filmmakers who challenge her in roles that continue to vary from the last.

When I heard she won the first Supporting Actress award of precursor season I thought they were just being lazy.

If I could ask Jessica Chastain one question it'd be this: Who among the living actresses do you want to work with in the coming years?

She's the new Julianne Moore because she's a redhead who can really act, and can do so in a year with so much versatility .

When I heard she won the first Supporting Actress award of precursor season I thought she was terrific in The Help, but loved her more in The Debt.

I really hope she works with Todd Haynes, Lynne Ramsey OR David Lynch and plays a gender-bending Blanchett-as-Dylan-esque role in which she would win an Oscar for.

@//3rtful: She answered your questions (who her actress inspirations / role models are) in several interviews:
Tilda Swinton, Cate Blanchett and Julianne Moore. (She even rejected a Nicole Kidman comparison in a french interview, saying that Kidman is a beauty but she'd rather go with Julianne Moore).

If I could ask Jessica Chastain one question it'd be this: Of your many films coming out this year, which one was the best to work on?

She's the new Cate Blanchett because of her ubiquity in acclaimed, ambitious, very different movies with versatile roles .

When I heard she won the first Supporting Actress award of precursor season I thought how could they choose only those 3 roles and not the other ones she had this year? And which one will she be campaigned for the most?

I really hope she works with ... well, Drew C's suggestion is excellent - Chekhov's "Three Sisters" with Moore and Swinton.

If I could ask Jessica Chastain one question it'd be this: Are you really in talk to play Lady Diana in un upcoming biopic? Please, don't.

She's the new real actress coming from nowhere in just one incredible year because: she has the right age to be considered for her talent and not only for her beauty (she is not very young); by now It seems she's the only one who can be able (with the right choices) to match the beauty of Jessica Lange, the range of Streep/Blanchett and the mistery of Julianne Moore. She should do both dramas and comedies. Time will tell.

When I heard she won the first Supporting Actress award of precursor season I thought; this is very exciting! they are rewarding her body of work, maybe the Academy will do the same and choose one of her performances. But, damn, Carey Mulligan was wonderful in Shame.

I really hope she works with another great director, maybe Paul Thomas Anderson or Todd Haynes and plays Julianne Moore's daugther or younger sister.

umm I love Nicole Kidman, but since when is she an ace with accents?

December 1, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterYavor

I vaguely recall hearing an interview in which she named Isabelle Huppert one of her favorite actresses...

December 1, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterMayukh

Moore, Huppert, Swinton... wow, the girl has good taste.

December 1, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterferdi

@Mayukh: Yup I forgot Huppert. She said Huppert, Swinton and Moore (in that order), and somewhere else she mentioned Blanchett as well.

If I were to ask Jessica Chastain one question it would be: Do you think you'd want to play Kerewin Holmes? I'd expect blank stares.

December 1, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterVolvagia

volvagia -- blank stares u will get. i haven't a clue what that means.

everyone -- i guess i shant be asking her for her favorite actresses since she's apparently been talking about it frequently given this comment thread.
