Bear Force One: The Movie
I kicked off our reader appreciation series last month with an interview with Alex, aka BBats. Wanted to let you know that he's currently co-starring in the comedy short Bear Force One in which the President of the USA declares wars on Bears*. It won the Best of the Fest at LA Comedy Shorts Festival earlier this month.
You'll have to be in the right mood for this (think South Park's love of grotesque animated yuks and you're in the general comedic vicinity) but bless BBats for being so shameless.** If you watch you'll know what I mean when you hit the interrogration scene wherein he lets his freak fur literally fly.
Love the end credits song. I was wondering when that joke was coming.
*The blog is being overrun by animals lately: elephants, monkeys, bears. I have no idea what's going on.
**This is the first (but not the only) reason I knew I could never be an actor from the word go. I am so easily embarassed.

Nat, acting is my passion and I am VERY easily embarrassed, and I hate parties. But standing up and performing - or impromptu public speaking? Sure, no problem, because I'm literally stepping outside of myself, I've got a "role". even giving a speech or presentation, I'm taking on a role (in that the job or the task becomes the mask, so to speak.)
Whereas my friends who I consider very outgoing, gregarious, can talk to strangers in the grocery check-out line (something I have to force myself to do), cannot imagine themselves being able to go onstage or speak publicly. It's a very strange dicotomy.
I actually watched it :P
Yavor I watched the first, um, five minutes or so (honestly!) but then I got bored. I have a hard time sitting in front of the computer watching videos anyway. I can sit for hours in front of the TV with a good DVD (whether it's Almodovar, or five episodes in a row of Nurse Jackie) but videos on the computer? Unless it's really compelling, I find my fingers getting itchy and I get distracted.
Ahh...Thanks for posting this! And when I filmed "that scene" I was laughing the entire time. Theres a deleted scene where I take a bear's panties off! I love being a weirdo goofball on film, its the best.
Janice -- omg. nurse jackie. i am embarrassed about how many episodes of that that i can watch in one sitting.
Alex -- you be crazy.
