"Secret Messages From the Movies"

SERIES DEBUT!
"Secret Messages From the Movies" will alternate daily with "First and Last" (returning tomorrow for its fifth season), as its another "guess the movie" puzzle. Here's your first episode...

Can you guess the movie?

That's a lot of calculations... do you give up?

The answer is after the jump.

Yep, that's capitalist superhero Daniel Plainview's (Daniel Day-Lewis) ink pen and the movie is There Will Be Blood (2007). Chris was the first to guess correctly and Michael later swears he can identify every frame. Are you as obsessive about this Best Picture nominee?

I don't think it is 'There Will Be Blood', but I remember there being an '@' in Daniel Plainview's writing, so I'll still go for it.

Hmmm, A Beautiful Mind? Not really, looks more like some checkbook balancing than mathematics...

For some reason I thought this was The Hours

Is it There Will Be Blood.

I think it is There Will Be Blood. I can picture Daniel Plainview laying on the floor, cashing in his silver or gold or whatever, at the beginning of the film. This is right before he signs the receipt, I think.

It is definitely There Will Be Blood, I challenge you to give me a single frame of that film I cannot identify. I'm just that damn awesome.

Yeah, at first I wasn't sure if it was There Will Be Blood or not, but I realize now that this is right before he signs his name. Sucha great opening 15 minutes. :D
