Help Me With My "Critics Choice" Ballot

Voting has begun for the BFCA's 'Critics Choice' prize and I thought I'd ask for your input as a memory jog. Though I do keep track of my favorite achievements in film during the year I always forget about the categories that I don't have in my own FiLM BiTCH prizes so I definitely need help with those.

I already asked for help on Twitter but for those of you who don't follow me there (what's wrong with you?) Please sound off here about your suggestions in the following categories:

BEST YOUNG ACTOR/ACTRESS (under 21)
BEST ACTION MOVIE

and the following are *new* categories this year

BEST ACTOR in a COMEDY
BEST ACTRESS in a COMEDY
BEST ACTOR in a ACTION FILM
BEST ACTRESS in an ACTION FILM
BEST SCI-FI/HORROR MOVIE

Make your FYC cases in the comment! Limit yourself to 3 choices in each category - that's all we get to put on the ballot (so difficult)

These have really been helping me, everyone, I kid you not. I tried to post a big lengthy comment but the blog swallowed it up.

Some of my choices- Seann William Scott in Goon, Guy Pearce is pretty much anything- have already been taken, but I figured I'd mention them again here.

Another good choice would be Mark Duplass in Your Sister's Sister, who somehow manages to keep up with the awesome duo of Blunt and DeWitt. Guy's been everywhere this year, but Lynn Shelton really knows how to get the most out of him (see also: Humpday).

I'd also go to the mat for Will Sasso in The Three Stooges Yes, the movie had plenty of problems, but none of them were of Sasso's making. His Curly was spot-on, and I'm glad Jim Carrey ended up bowing out of the movie so the Farrellys could cast someone who was right for the role and wouldn't just make it feel like a stunt.

Finally, Gina Carano's been mentioned already, but if she doesn't get some serious love for Best Actress (Action) then there's something wrong. Watching her lay waste to the Cock-Rockin' Kings of the CIA in Haywire, I stopped thinking about her as a female action hero and just grooved on her as a plain-old action star. And if she isn't the greatest at delivering lines, since when has that been an issue in action movies? When she's in motion, she rules.
