You were fabulous in "Anna Karenina." Who cares about the Oscars, when you made my ballot.

Love,
A Fan.

Relax, baby, smile. I'd love to see you having a little fun. Find joy in some roles, not only when you're playing opposite Steve Carell. You don't have to be this serious to be a serious actress. Remember Pride and Prejudice, your best performance. Be light. Be less obvious.

Dear Keira, I started hating you, finding your jaw annoying. But slowly you've become a fantastic, mature actress. You were robbed. Your performance in Anna Karenina was incredible.

I'm writing not to Keira but to Nathaniel. :) Describing Steven Spielberg's nomination (that this is his 7th) you forgot to mention Woody Allen who also has 7 nominations. :)

Dear Keira,

You're just too classy for this era. Keep it up and remember you're British, which means you will work forever.

Sincerely Yours,

Peggy

Dear Keira,

Can you start being amazing in films directed by someone other than Joe Wright.

Thanks

Dear Keira,
You're a wonderful actress. You were so great in Anna Karenina. Keep working and developing your craft.

Dear Kiki Knights,

When you first came into my life I thought you were decent, but nothing more than your average hottie with talent. Then you grew and grew as an actress. Then I was lucky enough to see you on stage in The Misanthrope on the west end and you mopped the floor with every other actor. You nailed it. Since then every role you've done you've attacked head on and really festered inside of your characters. One day I hope the world loves you as I do.

xx

Keira,

This is a friendly reminder that I still have your talent in a shell hanging around my neck. You will only get to use it when we plan out next project.

Love ya!

Joe

Keira my love,

Never stop! Like red wine, you get better with age.

Thank you.

Dear Keira,

I think you are truly underrated as an actress, and you are a very classy, put together, elegant and gracious young woman. You know less is more. You are also the best dressed celebrity of your generation/age group.

I like you very much, but I also envy you in a good way. I wish God (and genetics- more the latter than the former since I´m an atheist) has blessed me with your face. And your clothes, And your bank account.

Love,

Amanda

The next great contemporary film you do is getting you back to the Oscars ;)

January 24, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterMYS

Dearest Keira,

I have no idea why the academy doesn't love you like I do. You were so phenomenal in Atonement, A Dangerous Method and especially Anna Karenina, but unfortunately they chose to forgo your strong female characterizations in favor of the degrading parts that "hot" A-list actresses always end up getting nominated for (no names, please). Just know that I and most other TFE love you and that's all that matters since we have better taste than the academy anyway.

Love,

Jordan

Dear Keira,

With each film I love you more.

Please continue to push yourself and seek out amazing auteurs to work with. It's done wonders for Nicole Kidman; it can do the same for you.

Dear Keira,
I really wonder why you're so divisive, since you're beautiful, charming, skilled and you choose challenging projects or roles. your works with Joe Wright are awesome but I admired also your experience with Cronenberg. I hope I could watch you on stage one day

With Love

Dear Keira,

Have you considered doing more comedy? You were wonderful in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World because your experience in serious period dramas and romances let you build a deep, believable character. You have great timing, as well. Keep taking risks with your career, no matter what.

January 24, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterRobert G

Keira,

That jaw of yours is amazing. It was damn robbed of a nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. It worked more than half of the Sup. Actor category at the Oscars last year. Plus, you should have been nominated too.

Best wishes,

Jorge

P.S. - Keep working, dear. Someday the rest of the world will understand how truly great you are.

P.S.2 - Pick other talented british filmmakers. They get you better than the American ones. DO A COMEDY.

January 24, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterJorge Rodrigues

Dear Kiera, I want to like you, but WHY did you have to get an Oscar nomination for Pride and Prejudice when my beloved Greer Garson, who played Elizabeth in Robert Z. Leonard's wonderful original, was viciously and unforgivably snubbed. For shame, ye vile wench. At least you were not nommed this year when Greta was not either for the same iconic part. That, my heart could not bear.I would love to have witnessed thy heaving bosom when ye got the news! Ye wicked, loathsome harlot!

Less Period Pieces?

Love,

Matt

January 24, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterMatt

Dear Keira,

Thank you for playing your characters as they're written, in all their complexity. Thank you for not trying to make me "like" you with every gesture on screen, which makes me admire you all the more in the end. Thank you for the dance sequence in Anna Karenina, which I know you worked your ass off for. Thank you for not starring a comic book franchise.

Dear Keira,
Forget about the Oscars and other stuff. You gave an excellent performance in Anna Karenina. You are such a pretty woman and I'll be always watching you.But try to new things rather than period films.Because you have the capability to act every role. :)

You were robbed my dear for a 2008 nom for the duchess.

January 24, 2013 | Unregistered Commentermark

Dearest Keira,

One word: brave. That's what you are, and what the Oscars are not. You were phenomenal in Anna Karenina, gutsy and guileless in A Dangerous Method, lovely and heartwrenching in Last Night, and heartbreakingly cruel in Never Let Me Go -- and that's just your last four films (Seeking a Friend... aside). May awards rise up to meet YOU.

Xoxo...

Dearest Keira

We first met when you stole every scene in Bend it Like Beckham. No one was talking about your performance, it seemed - yet you are the only thing I remember from that movie - bright, colourful, petulant at every turn. I watched from afar in anticipation of your next projects, and slowly became drawn to pictures to which you were attached, as in: 'oh, Keira Knightley is in that'. I mean, I would have watched Pride and Prejudice, Atonement and Never Let Me Go *anyways*, but I was definitely curious to see what you could bring to each and every role. And so it went, dear Keira: I watched you act and act from one gorgeous movie to another, well clothed, finely directed, and surrounded by good casts. My fondness for that Movie Star void that you were filling - classically beautiful young modern British actress with smarts and chops who can do Period AND swash-buckle in one take - was suppressing my growing unease with your ACTING. Every time that little voice in my head uttered the word 'overacting', you came out with swinging with a fabulous Chanel print ad to silence it. It was always something, wasn't it.

And then, A Dangerous Method happened.

Today, I am scathed. Today, I fight my revisionist appreciation of your performances. Today, I cannot be convinced to use my movie watcher points to buy a free ticket to watch your movie. I blamed Cronenberg for a while. You see, I blamed it on the rain. But the acting choices you made were ultimately yours.

I think we need to see other people.

With love,

G.ShaQ
