We shan't forget a Hitchcock: Patricia Hitchcock (7/7/1928), marvelous actress in two of her father's best - "Strangers On A Train", "Psycho" (1960), and 10 of his TV series episodes.
I may have a lifelong bias... But I am surprised that Robert Horton is not on this auspicious list. Born July 29th, 1924, he worked in film and on stage since the mid 1940's. I suppose he is best known for his role as Flint McCullough on Wagon Train from 1957-1961..But one should also remember that he was in the first 3d western ever made, that would be "Arena". And also starred in many other western movies of time. After his tenure on Wagon Train he spent a great deal of his career in the theater. 330 performances of 110 in the Shade on Broadway...and Shakespeare on Matinee Theater. Purportedly, he was one of Alfred Hitchcock's favorite actors and starred in 7 sequences of Alfred Hitchcock presents,. He had a fabulous voice. He traveled with many theatrical road companies and was seen as a guest performer on several television shows and soap opera through the mid 1980's. His fan base is legion and his persistence and tenacity and talent and downright magnificent looks warrants him a spot on this list. Don' cha think?
Priscilla Pointer (5/18/1924), "Carrie" (1976), "Looking For Mr. Goodbar" (1977), "Mommie Dearest" (1981), expertly in mother/authoritarian roles, also mom of actress Amy Irving.
did you omit Rhonda Fleming and Arlene Dahl ?Or was I just starry eyed at the impressive list ?
Also add Peggy King, born Feb. 16, 1930, known primarily and a TV and recording star, but also seen in "The Bad and the Beautiful," "Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy" and "Zero Hour," and more recently in "Behind the Candelabra". www.peggyking.org
